Child Protection Animator - Beirut

We work to ensure children have healthcare, food and shelter, as well as learning and child protection services when children need it most. Securing children's rights is the foundation of our work. Millions of children around the world are denied their rights, simply because of who they are or where they are from. We know that to ensure every child has the chance for a future their rights must be upheld.

Through our programming, emergency responses and advocacy, we put the most vulnerable children first, tackling the barriers to survival, learning and protection.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Assist the child protection officers in the implementation of child protection activities through co-facilitation during psychosocial support sessions.
• Deliver PSS sessions to children and caregivers in addition to recreational activities and events.
• Support in the decoration and organization of community centers and child friendly spaces. 
• Support in the recruitment of children and caregivers through outreach activities, door to door and field visits.
• Conduct satisfaction surveys and other monitoring and evaluation tools with beneficiaries.
• Prepare and conduct recreational and community-based activities with children, adolescents and caregivers along with assisting in the delivery of awareness sessions on child protection topics
• Take care of children during trainings and other activities that involve caregivers and delivering recreational and educational activities to them such as games, songs, handcrafts, storytelling, …etc.
• Participate in the distribution of kits to beneficiaries in the center and in the community
• Participate in the organization and delivery of community events and special days with children
• Collect information about beneficiaries attending the sessions and fill out databases
• Identify children showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health-related problems, and discuss them with supervisors.
• Attend trainings and regular team meetings.
• Support Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) activities under the supervision of designated staff and in line with SCI safeguarding standards.

During emergency response, animators may:

• Support the rapid set-up and safe organization of Child Friendly Spaces (CFS), shelters, or mobile activities.
• Assist in delivering structured PSS and recreational activities for children and caregivers.
• Support outreach activities and immediately report children at risk to supervisors for referral.
• Assist in emergency kit distributions, ensuring orderly and safe processes.
• Support basic attendance tracking and activity reporting.
• Attend required briefings and comply with SCI Child Safeguarding, PSEA, and Code of Conduct at all times.
