I. About Developmental Action without Borders, Naba'a:

Developmental Action without Borders - Naba’a, is a Lebanese NGO operational since 2001. Registered under the Ministry of Interior (no. 104/AD), Naba’a is dedicated to serving all marginalized communities in Lebanon, especially children, without distinction of nationality, color, race, or religion. This includes communities within camps and gatherings in Lebanon, as well as local Lebanese communities.

II. Nabaa's Employment Screening and Protection Protocol:

Developmental Action without Borders, Naba’a, does not employ individuals who are married to children (persons under 18). Naba’a enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment, abuse of authority, and discrimination. All prospective candidates must undergo thorough reference and background checks which will mainly verify employment history, professional performance, and adherence to the aforementioned policies. Furthermore, the selected candidates must provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening or an equivalent criminal record check as a condition of employment.

The RS Education Consultant Will Carry the Following Deliverables:

1. Lesson Planning and Daily Preparation:

  • Ensure the timely preparation and quality of daily documentation, including lesson plans and attendance records
  • Ensure the child registration process, ensuring compliance with required documentation and established procedures
  • Monitor children’s attendance on a daily basis, identifying trends, gaps, and follow-up actions as needed
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry, verifying data quality and adherence to reporting timelines

 

2. Assess Students’ Needs:

  • Conduct individualized assessments to identify students’ learning challenges and areas of improvement.
  • Collaborate with caregivers to gather insights into students’ academic progress and needs

3. Develop Customized Remedial Plans:

  • Design remedial plan for students, considering their specific learning requirements, considering different learning styles.
  • Create engaging and age-appropriate learning materials to support remedial activities

4. Provide Sessions

  • Conduct remedial sessions for school students, focusing on improving their reading, writing, listening and mathematics skills in Arabic, English, and Mathematics and assist them in doing their Homework and assignments. 
  • Use various teaching strategies and resources to address learning difficulties effectively.
  • Conduct Social emotional learning sessions for children

5. Monitoring and Evaluating Progress:

  • Continuously track and evaluate students’ progress adjusting remedial plans as needed to ensure measurable improvement.
  • Maintain detailed records of each student’s performance and development.

6. Foster a supportive Learning Environment:

  • Build a positive and encouraging relationship with students to boost their self-esteem and motivation
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and seeking help
  • Insert active learning techniques in the lesson plan and classroom activities

7. Coordination with staff members and caregivers:

  • Communicate regularly with the Education Officer to share updates and discuss areas for improvement or any challenges that should be addressed.
  • Coordinating the regular meetings with the caregivers’ committee
  • Conduct awareness sessions for caregivers on monthly basis

8. Safety and Protection:

  • Presenting complete commitment to Nabaa’s PSEAH, child protection, complaint mechanism, anti-corruption, and safeguarding policies as well as code of conduct.

II) Minimum Qualifications: 

1. Academic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a Teaching Diploma certification. 

2. Professional Qualifications:

  • 2 - 3 years of experience in teaching children under remedial programs.

3. Competencies / Soft Skills (as needed for performing selected tasks)

  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Creative thinking and innovative mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed academically.
  • Professional problem-solving and team work skills

4. Technical Skills (as needed for performing selected tasks)

  • Strong understanding of the educational challenges faced by students.
  • Computer literacy in outlook, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Internet
  • Effective lesson planning and report writing skills
  • Understanding of child rights and child protection
