The PSS Facilitator will support the implementation of structured psychosocial support and play-based activities for displaced children in targeted collective shelters.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Support the implementation of psychosocial support and child-friendly activities in targeted collective shelters.
- Support the PSS Officer in conducting structured psychosocial support and play-based activities for displaced children aged 3–14 in collective shelters.
- Assist in organizing children into age groups and ensuring activities are adapted to their developmental stage and needs.
- Encourage children’s participation and positive interaction during activities.
- Observe children during sessions and report any signs of psychosocial distress, protection concerns, or the need for additional support to the PSS Officer.
- Support the preparation and organization of play-based kits, session materials, games, and other activity resources, if required.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Good organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and initiative taker.
- Ability to communicate with vulnerable populations.
- Knowledge of psychosocial support, Child Protection, safeguarding, and child-friendly activities.
- Dynamic personality.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English; French is a plus.
Experience:
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Previous experience in NGO and humanitarian field is an advantage.
- Previous experience in working with children and vulnerable populations is required.
- Previous experience in psychosocial support, child-friendly activities, or recreational activities is required.
Working Conditions
- Based in the field, with regular travel to collective shelters and activity locations in Beirut and Mount Lebanon, depending on assignment.
- The selected candidate must be available to work afternoon shifts and, when required, on Saturdays.
