Social Worker (PHC)

The Social Worker will provide case management, medical psychosocial support, psychosocial support, crisis intervention, and referrals to survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and individuals affected by substance use. The role requires a trauma-informed, survivor-centered, and culturally sensitive approach to ensure the safety, dignity, and overall well-being of beneficiaries, in close coordination with relevant medical and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and risk assessments for vulnerable individuals.
  • Provide individual and group psychosocial support sessions for GBV survivors and individuals affected by substance use.
  • Develop and implement individualized case management plans, including safety planning and follow-up.
  • Provide targeted support for individuals affected by substance use, including harm reduction interventions, relapse prevention, treatment adherence support, and facilitation of access to detoxification, rehabilitation, and drug addiction services.

  • Facilitate awareness-raising activities on GBV prevention, protection, substance use risks, and available support mechanisms.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and external service providers.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely case documentation and reporting.
  • Participate in outreach activities, community engagement initiatives, and program monitoring efforts.
  • Ensure all interventions adhere to ethical principles, confidentiality standards, and safeguarding policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (Master’s degree is an asset).
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the Lebanese Order of Social Workers is a must.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in social work, preferably in GBV, protection, mental health, substance use, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in case management and psychosocial support.
  • Knowledge of survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and protection principles.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professional ethics, and safeguarding standards.
