FEMALE a community based non-profit grassroot feminist organization is looking for a full time Financial Coordinator.
Major Responsibilities:
• Oversee the overall management of all financial matters within the organization, ensuring sound financial planning, accountability, transparency, and compliance with organizational, Lebanese laws and donor requirements.
• Lead and supervise the finance and procurement team members, including task allocation, performance follow-up, capacity building, and ensuring efficient coordination between departments.
• Develop, monitor, and manage organizational and project budgets, cash flow, and financial forecasts to ensure effective use of resources and timely financial decision-making.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting, accounting, procurement processes, and donor compliance, including maintaining audit-ready records, reviewing expenditures, and enforcing internal financial and procurement policies and procedures.
• Review the balance sheet, Income statement, and cash flow daily and ensure that any issues are flagged and followed up in a timely manner, and liaise with the executive director;
• Review that all supporting documentation for all financial transactions are kept in systematic order and in safe and secure conditions;
• Develop annual fiscal year budgets;
• Manage any requests for payment via bank transfer\cash\cheques;
• Being a key point of contact for all staff and partners on financial and accounting matters;
• Prepare and circulate monthly monitoring (expense vs. Budget) report to Program managers as per the set deadlines for assigned project codes;
• Enters accounting information into bookkeeping, and cross-check accurateness and completeness before submitting in a timely manner;
• Prepare Budget for new proposals for the projects;
• Monitor expenditures to ensure that projects funds are utilized appropriately;
• Perform and analyze monthly financial summaries and reports for review by the executive director;
• Prepare Interim and final financial reports to the donors and/or Support Offices as per the timeline set in the grant agreements;
• Monitors bank accounts and prepares monthly bank and cash reconciliations;
• Responsible for the development and implementation of the financial work plan of all FEMALE projects;
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures of FEMALE;
• Attend and prepare a report for any external meeting and events FEMALE is invited to and when assigned by the executive director;
• Manage and follow up with consultants on external financial auditing related to the organization's finances
• Maintain banking and Donors/Partners relationships and act as the primary liaison person;
• The position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key duties.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally in a similar role within an international or non-profit organization.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and reporting.
Excellent knowledge of Arabic and English is mandatory.
- Knowledge of gender and familiarity with the human rights and feminist work approaches.
