Project Manager

The Project Manager will oversee the overall implementation, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of the project. This includes supervising field operations, ensuring food safety and quality compliance, managing stakeholder engagement, supporting operational planning, and ensuring adherence to donor requirements and humanitarian principles.

The service includes:

  • Leading project implementation and operational planning.
  • Coordinating with donors, local authorities, Food Security Sector partners, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Supervising project staff, including Officers and the Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) Expert.
  • Monitoring meal preparation and distribution activities across shelters and partner kitchens.
  • Supporting procurement, logistics, budgeting, and resource allocation processes.
  • Conducting field visits and spot checks to monitor implementation quality.
  • Reviewing narrative and financial reports in coordination with the Finance team.
  • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding standards, donor requirements, and reporting obligations.

Key Deliverables

  • Detailed project work plan and implementation schedule.
  • Coordination and communication with donors and stakeholders maintained throughout the assignment.
  • Operational protocols and field coordination mechanisms established and implemented.
  • Monitoring and supervision of food distribution activities across designated shelters.
  • Regular field monitoring and spot check reports.
  • Timely submission of narrative reports and support to financial reporting processes.
  • Risk mitigation and problem-solving support for operational and emergency challenges.
  • Final project implementation summary including lessons learned and recommendations.

Timeframe and Reporting

The assignment duration is three months.

The Project Manager will report directly to the area manager and will coordinate closely with the Finance team, field teams, Food Safety and Quality Expert, donors, and relevant stakeholders. Regular updates and reports will be submitted throughout the implementation period.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • University degree in International Development, Political Studies, Sociology, or another relevant field.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience from which minimum 3 year in a managerial level, specifically in food security, nutrition, or emergency response programming.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders in fast-paced humanitarian or emergency settings.
  • Strong understanding of humanitarian coordination mechanisms and emergency operations.
  • Strong understanding of logistics flow, food distribution systems, and emergency supply chain processes.
  • Proven leadership, communication, negotiation, and reporting skills.
  • Experience coordinating with government entities and local authorities is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
