DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION (According to JD)
General objective: The Warehouse and transport officer manages the receipt, storage, safe-keeping and delivery of food, goods, tools and equipment used by Solidarités International. He/she is responsible for monitoring transportation of cargo to and from the warehouse. He/she is responsible for supervising the drivers and organize transportation of staff with Solidarites International’s own vehicle fleet.
He/she is responsible for filing and archiving logistics documents linked to fleet, facilities and stock management.
The main challenges: Security context in South of Lebanon
Priorities for the 2/3 first months: implement new warehouse in accordance to SI standards
Responsibilities and main activities:
Management of storage and stock
- Receive and dispatch deliveries from the warehouse
- Update stock cards, stock reports on hard and soft copies and in LINK software
- Update the stock levels in real time in LINK software
- Supervise the team of daily workers charged with storage activities
- Draft or complete dispatch and receipt documents in compliance with Solidarités International standards
- Maintain updated inventory lists for all facilities
- Carry out regular inventories and reconciliation of stock
- Monitor the quality of stored products at the time of receipt and storage, with special attention to expiration dates
- Archive stock management documents in line with Solidarites International standards
Facilitate truck movements to distributions
- Communicate with transporters on receiving and dispatching materials to and from the warehouse
- Communicate with transporters on delivery locations and convoys
- Supervise the team of daily workers charged with loading and offloading activities
Maintenance of buildings, facilities and storage spaces
- Monitor the warehouse, office and guesthouse facilities and infrastructure: locate damages and propose the necessary repairs
- Introduce pest control and supervise cleaning and regular disinfection of warehouse
- Ensure adequate ventilation of the storage areas
Fleet management and maintenance
- Organize the schedule of vehicle movements in collaboration with the logistics supervisor
- Supervise the schedule and execution of maintenance and repair work on vehicles in the base
- Check that vehicle log books are in place and are used correctly
- Check regularly if the administrative documents for all vehicles are available, filed and monitored
- Monitor the proper operation of all security and communication equipment in the vehicles
- Report all accidents to the line manager
- Update the fuel and fleet follow-up tools Excel tools
Human resources
- Line-manage the driver team in the base
- Participate in the hiring and evaluation process for drivers
- Ensure the continuous general training of drivers and regularly test their knowledge
- Make the team of drivers accountable for complying with Solidarités International’s procedures and security regulations

- Fleet and fuel follow up report
- Stock and inventory reports

Working conditions:
The position is expected to work on site, in Saida. Normal working hours are 08:00-16:30 However, working hours may vary based on delivery schedules. The post-holder may be required to be present at the warehouse early morning before standard working hours or during the weekend.
PROFILE NEEDED
Studies : Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business
Administration, or at least 1 year of relevant experience.
Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience in humanitarian logistics, including procurement, fleet, stock, management at an operational level
Language : working level of English
IT : good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Tools. Purchasing and
warehousing software advantage
Qualification : Good communication and coordination skills with internal teams, drivers,
suppliers, and contractors.
SI WILL OFFER YOU (to be filled by HR)
A salaried post : 1,325 USD as basic salary
Vacation : 1.75 paid leave per month
