Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer

PURPOSE:

The Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, coordination, and improvement of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems across Just.Childhood programs and projects.

The M&E Officer will contribute to ensuring high quality data collection, analysis, reporting, and learning processes that support effective program implementation, donor compliance, organizational accountability, and continuous improvement.

The Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer position is a part-time role requiring a commitment of 20 hours per week distributed across 3 working days.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

The role of the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer is to support the organization in maintaining high standards of program quality, accountability, and evidence-based learning. This includes the following tasks and responsibilities:

Develop and maintain project monitoring tools, databases, indicators tracking systems, and data collection methodologies in coordination with program and management teams.

Support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, logical frameworks, results frameworks, indicators, and performance measurement plans for all projects and programs.

Conduct regular field monitoring visits to project locations to ensure quality implementation, data verification, and compliance with project objectives and donor requirements.

Collect, organize, clean, verify, analyze, and securely store quantitative and qualitative project data in accordance with organizational procedures and data protection policies.

Ensure the accuracy, reliability, confidentiality, and timely submission of data and reports.

Support project teams in developing baseline assessments, needs assessments, endline evaluations, surveys, focus group discussions, case studies, and lessons learned documentation.

Prepare regular internal and donor reports, including statistical summaries, indicator tracking tables, narrative inputs, presentations, and dashboards.

Support the development and implementation of accountability mechanisms, feedback systems, complaint response systems, and beneficiary satisfaction tools.

Coordinate with project coordinators, educators, facilitators, counselors, and field staff to ensure proper understanding and use of M&E tools and procedures.

Provide training, orientation, and technical support to staff on monitoring tools, data collection techniques, reporting standards, and data quality principles.

Support the development of success stories, human interest stories, and evidence-based communication materials for reporting and visibility purposes.

Ensure proper archiving and filing of monitoring documents, attendance sheets, assessments, reports, consent forms, and supporting documentation.

Participate in project planning, proposal development, indicator formulation, and donor reporting processes as required.

Assist in identifying programmatic gaps, implementation challenges, trends, and recommendations for program improvement.

Support external evaluations, audits, assessments, and donor monitoring visits when required.

Contribute to organizational learning by documenting best practices, lessons learned, and recommendations from program implementation.

Ensure adherence to safeguarding, child protection, confidentiality, ethical standards, and organizational policies at all times.

Attend internal coordination meetings, training workshops, capacity building sessions, and other organizational meetings as required.

Perform any other relevant duties assigned by the Program Manager or Management Team.
