Organizational Background
Tahaddi Lebanon is a Lebanese NGO established in 2008 to address urban poverty through access to education, health, and psychosocial support. Based in Hay El Gharbeh, Southern Beirut, Tahaddi works in solidarity with families facing extreme socioeconomic hardship. Through its non-formal education center, health clinic, psychosocial unit, and income-generating sewing workshop, Tahaddi supports over 1,000 families annually with a committed team of over 90 staff members.
Tahaddi is seeking a qualified and experienced Sewing and Tailoring Trainer for advanced training to seamstresses and tailors under the livelihood program. The trainer will be responsible for delivering practical and theoretical training in sewing, tailoring, Haute Couture techniques, entrepreneurship, and soft skills to participants, while ensuring a professional, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Position Title: Sewing and Tailoring Trainer
Reporting Line: Reports to the Sewing Manager
Location: Tahaddi center in Hay el Gharbeh, Ghobeireh, Beirut, Lebanon
Type of Contract: Part Time
Expected Start Date: Mid June
Main Responsibilities
The Sewing and Tailoring Trainer will be responsible for:
. Delivering practical and advanced training in sewing, tailoring, and garment construction.
. Training participants on the use of sewing machines, tools, materials, and safety procedures.
. Teaching participants how to prepare, adjust, and apply patterns.
. Providing training in Haute Couture techniques and high quality garment production.
. Supervising trainees during practical sessions and ensuring proper implementation of learned skills.
. Training participants on product pricing, display methods, and basic sales strategies.
. Delivering basic entrepreneurship training, including business planning, market understanding, customer relations, and income generating project development.
. Providing soft skills training, including communication, teamwork, problem solving, time management, self confidence, and workplace ethics.
. Supporting participants in developing professional work habits and confidence.
. Monitoring participants’ progress and providing regular feedback.
. Working closely with the Atelier Manager and the team to achieve program objectives.
. Ensuring a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment for all participants.
Required Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should have:
. Advanced practical experience in sewing and tailoring, with a minimum of 5 years.
. Strong proficiency in Haute Couture techniques and the ability to construct high quality garments to professional standards.
. Proven ability to train and supervise trainees in sewing, tailoring, pattern preparation, and practical implementation.
. Ability to train participants on product pricing, display methods, and sales strategies.
. Ability to deliver entrepreneurship and soft skills training.
. Documented prior experience working with non governmental organizations and community based organizations.
. Strong ability to work professionally and ethically with vulnerable and affected groups.
. Excellent communication, facilitation, and teamwork skills.
. Fluency in Arabic is required. Good English skills are an asset.
