RESPONSIBILITIES/Duties: (Responsibilities may change per project needs)
Assessment:
Participate in beneficiary identification.
Undertake technical shelter condition assessments, preparing all necessary paperwork.
Understand the needs of the PwSN and their caregiver (where applicable) in order to propose the most appropriate shelter solutions for Elderly and disabled.
Conduct daily field visits in order to prepare a technical evaluation for the potential units.
Conduct site improvement and cash for rent assessment.
Sketch and draw plans for the shelter as needed using AutoCAD software.
Maintain and update a database for each case (including individual and HH details if needed).
Design and Implementation
Prepare a complete Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for each IS/shelter unit technically evaluated on the field with the definition of items, describing the specifications, the quantity and the quality of materials required (including workers fees, machines renting, transportation fees, other);
Daily visit to shelter units assessing the quality and quantity of the work done by the contractor/landlords (very good knowledge of materials, specification and prices.
Ensure quality assurance of material specification and selection and robustness in design and construction, in compliance with the guidelines and catalogue.
Communication
Liaise with local communities on site, in coordination with the Community Officer.
Assist in translation as needed.
Ensure that any issues in project implementation are communicated to the Shelter Officer, for quick follow up and resolution.
Ensure good quality workmanship, through clear explanation of the intervention to the Contractor on site
Reporting
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities e.g. through weekly and monthly reports.
Ensure all paper work is accurate and correctly stored •
Prepare the weekly and monthly report for his/her sector of responsibility;
General Responsibilities
Work within Medair’s operating policies, procedures, and software systems, ensuring the use of standardized formats.
File and archive all electronic and paper documents in accordance with Medair (Data Protection) and donor guidelines
Read, sign and comply with all Medair’s Code of Ethics policies such as the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Harassment, Child Protection, and the Prevention of Fraud.
Work in cooperation with teammates and other departments
Personal Specification:
University degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or similar field
Minimum 1 year Post-qualification professional or practical experience. Management experience in a construction context
Strong working knowledge of Arabic and English (spoken and written)
Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Enjoys a challenge and works hard to achieve objectives

Team-player with good inter-personal skills, willing to share tasks and delegate

This position is based in BML, Lebanon. The position will be 90% field based within Informal Settlements and Substandard Accommodations and 10% office based
