The Opportunity
Under the direct supervision of the Child Protection Program Coordinator and overall guidance of the Child Protection Advisor and the Case Management Specialist, the Case Management Officer will be responsible to supervise and support caseworkers in implementing activities related to child protection case management including different vulnerabilities such as alternative care. As well as targeting vulnerable children in need for protection services and families including refugees, returnees and children in host communities.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
- A degree in social work, psychology or related social studies.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
- 3 years of experience of working directly in child protection case management with different vulnerabilities such as unaccompanied, worst form of child labour and separated children, children in need of alternative care placement and extended families.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Understanding of social welfare systems and child protection mechanisms in Lebanon.
- Experience in project implementation and supervision of staff.
- Ability to write weekly and monthly reports, develop schedules and collect data.
- Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work flexible hours in the event of major emergencies. Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
