Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Psychosocial Support Provision

Conduct psychosocial assessments to identify the needs of individuals and groups.

Assess mental health conditions, trauma, and psychosocial vulnerabilities.

Facilitate group counseling sessions addressing emotional, psychological, and social needs.

Provide emotional support and active listening to individuals experiencing distress.

Develop and implement tailored psychosocial support sessions based on beneficiaries’ needs and approved program curricula.

Raise awareness on protection issues and provide individuals with strategies to protect themselves and seek help.

Collaborate with professionals during emergencies to ensure beneficiaries’ safety and well-being.

Regularly assess the effectiveness of psychosocial activities and adjust them in coordination with the Program Coordinator.

Ensure all activities are conducted in appropriate locations that meet minimum standards.

Ensure activities are culturally sensitive and inclusive, especially for marginalized groups.

Inform all beneficiaries about the Feedback and Complaint Mechanism.

Conduct Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), surveys, and interviews with beneficiaries and stakeholders to assess program impact.

Organize and participate in community events that promote protection and well-being.

Community Engagement

Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, local leaders, and stakeholders.

Work collaboratively with communities to identify psychosocial needs and develop community-based support systems.

Train community members and volunteers to support psychosocial activities, ensuring sustainability.

Organize and facilitate support groups and community-based activities promoting overall well-being.

Conduct regular field visits to project sites to engage with communities and understand their needs and concerns.

Represent Social Urjuwan Association at the local level when required.

Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Project Coordinator.

Detection and Referral

Identify and refer moderate- to high-risk cases to appropriate case management services for further support.

Reporting and Documentation

Prepare concise reports on activities, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.

Maintain accurate beneficiary records (attendance sheets, transportation logs, evaluation forms).

Complete Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) tools as required by the project.

Document success stories, challenges, and best practices to support organizational learning and knowledge sharing.

Professional Development

Participate in ongoing training and capacity-building opportunities.

Engage in supervision sessions to discuss field challenges and share best practices.

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding and PSEA principles in all activities.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector in psychosocial support or mental health services, preferably with vulnerable populations.

Strong understanding of protection principles related to mental health and psychosocial well-being.

Good knowledge of the social, cultural, and political context of North Lebanon.

Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to work in challenging environments while maintaining professionalism.

Commitment to Social Urjuwan Association’s policies, including the Code of Conduct and PSEA.

Conditions

Full-time position: 5 working days per week, 8 hours per day, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Willingness to travel for meetings, trainings, workshops, and conferences when required.

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field from an accredited university. Preference will be given to graduates of the Lebanese University, Saint Joseph University (USJ), and Al Jinan University.
