WASH Officer - Bekaa with frequent travel to BML

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Field Assessments & Implementation:
  • Conduct field assessments to identify needs and target beneficiaries for NFI distributions in collective shelters and communities.
  • Support and supervise the implementation of distribution activities inside shelters and in host/community locations, ensuring proper organization, crowd management, documentation, and timely delivery of assistance.
  • Verify beneficiary lists, referral lists where applicable, distribution processes, quantities, and material handling to ensure compliance with project standards and accountability requirements.
  • Conduct hygiene awareness sessions and basic sensitization activities for beneficiaries as part of the distribution interventions, using approved messages and reporting tools.

 

  1. Monitoring, Reporting & Office Duties:
    • Develop and maintain dynamic tracking tools (Gantt charts, dashboards) to monitor outputs, budgets, and timelines.
    • Draft weekly field briefs and comprehensive monthly progress reports for the Senior Officer.
    • Support the senior officer in updating activity plans, distribution schedules, procurement follow-up, stock tracking, and risk registers based on field findings.
  2. Quality Assurance & Compliance:
    • Ensure strict adherence to organizational policies (safeguarding, financial controls) and guidelines.
  3. Team Support & Capacity Building:
    • Mentor field staff on technical protocols, safety measures, distribution procedures, safety measures, safeguarding, and community feedback mechanisms.
  4. Risk Management & Adaptation:
    • Identify security, logistical, and environmental risks; design and implement mitigation strategies.
    • Adapt implementation plans in real time in response to evolving field conditions and stakeholder feedback in coordination with the senior officer.

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, humanitarian studies, development or any related field.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in humanitarian or emergency WASH response programs, preferably working with displaced populations or vulnerable communities.
  • Proficient in Excel and mobile data-collection tools.
  • Basic data collection, verification, and reporting skills, with the ability to follow structured monitoring tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; fluency in English and Arabic.
  • Willingness to work extended periods in challenging field environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to project sites, including Beirut, Mount Lebanon, and Saida, as required.
