Education and Psychosocial Support (PSS) Coordinator ( one person for EHC -One for NBC and Beddaweh )

National Institution for Social Care and Vocational Training NISCVT has a zero-tolerance policy with regard to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse. National Institution for Social Care and Vocational Training (NISCVT Beit Atfal Assumoud) is a humanitarian NGO working with the Palestinian communities in Lebanon since 1976 in development and emergency response. NISCVT’s mission is to contribute to the development of the Palestinian community in Lebanon through various projects and services addressing the needs of the whole family focusing on education, community, economic development and VTCs, health and relief including psychosocial support.

Background of the project:

The Enhancing Quality Inclusive Education (EQIE) Project aims to improve access to safe, inclusive, and quality education opportunities for vulnerable children in Palestinian camps and gatherings. The project focuses on strengthening teaching and learning through teacher training, mentoring, and inclusive educational support. EQIE also promotes children’s well-being by integrating psychosocial support (PSS), play-based learning, and protective approaches within learning environments.

The project seeks to enhance teaching quality, improve students’ learning outcomes, and foster supportive and inclusive classroom environments that respond to children’s academic and psychosocial needs.

Teachers play a key role in enhancing teaching quality and improving learning outcomes across the EQIE project for school-aged children in Grades 1 to 4 who have difficulty with Arabic and English. Through classroom observation, coaching, and capacity building, the teachers ensure that instruction is learner-centered, inclusive, and aligned with program goals.

Position Summary

NISCVT is seeking two Education and Psychosocial Support (PSS) Coordinators: one to be based at the EHC Center and one to cover Beddawi and Nahr El Bared camps in the North. The Coordinators will be responsible for the planning, implementation, supervision, monitoring, and quality assurance of integrated Education and PSS programs.

Both positions ensure high-quality delivery of education, psychosocial support, and child protection services in line with organizational policies, safeguarding standards, and donor requirements. The roles require strong coordination, field supervision, and capacity-building support to center-based teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Management and Coordination

  • Oversee implementation of Education and PSS activities within the assigned location.
  • Develop and follow up on work plans, schedules, and activity implementation.
  • Ensure coordination between education, PSS, and protection interventions.
  • Participate in internal and external coordination meetings as required.

2. Education & PSS Implementation

  • Supervise educational activities including remedial education and structured learning support.
  • Supervise psychosocial support activities including awareness sessions, group activities, and community-based interventions.
  • Ensure quality delivery of services according to approved standards and guidelines.
  • Support integration of PSS approaches within educational activities.

3. Supervision & Monitoring

  • Conduct regular field visits to ensure quality implementation of activities.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide technical guidance and support.
  • Conduct regular meetings with teams to review progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Ensure achievement of program indicators and targets.

4. Safeguarding & Child Protection

• Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, PSEA, and child protection policies across all Education and PSS activities.
• Promote safe, inclusive, and child-friendly environments in all program implementation settings.
• Ensure safeguarding risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated during the planning and field implementation of activities.
• Ensure that staff, volunteers, and facilitators adhere to safeguarding principles and codes of conduct.
• Ensure the timely reporting and follow-up of any safeguarding or protection concerns in line with the organization's SOPs and through the established reporting channels.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure a survivor-centered approach in all safeguarding-related cases.

    5. Reporting & Documentation

    • Prepare regular narrative and activity reports.
    • Ensure timely submission of data, reports, and documentation as required.
    • Maintain accurate records of program activities and beneficiaries.

    6. Capacity Building & Support

    • Provide technical support and coaching to teachers, social workers, animators, and facilitators.
    • Support training and capacity-building activities for staff and volunteers.
    • Ensure new staff receive proper induction and orientation.

    7. Coordination & Representation

    • Coordinate with center teams, management, and relevant stakeholders.
    • Maintain effective communication with community focal points and partners.
    • Represent the program in coordination meetings when required.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Child Development, or related field.
    • Minimum 5–Years of relevant experience in Education and/or Psychosocial Support programs.
    • Experience in child protection, humanitarian, or NGO settings is an asset.
    • Strong supervisory, coordination, and reporting skills.
    • Experience in multi-site or field-based programs is preferred (especially for North position).
    • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and travel regularly to field sites.
