Key Responsibilities
Program Implementation
- Implement shelter and WASH activities, including shelter rehabilitation, sanitation facility upgrades, and distribution of relief items.
- Conduct field assessments and collect data to identify beneficiary needs.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and supervise technical works.
- Monitor contractors and ensure quality and timely implementation.
- Ensure compliance with HAND procedures, SOPs, and humanitarian standards.
- Collect beneficiary documentation and support referrals when needed.
- Participate in rapid needs assessments and emergency response activities.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Conduct regular field visits and monitor activity progress.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports and maintain accurate project records.
- Report delays, challenges, and emerging issues to the line manager.
- Contribute to team meetings and lessons learned exercises.
Community Engagement
- Respond to beneficiary inquiries and maintain transparent communication.
- Report complaints and ensure proper referral mechanisms are followed.
- Promote accountability and adherence to HAND policies in the field.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum two years of relevant experience in shelter and WASH programming within NGOs or the private sector.
- Strong knowledge of shelter rehabilitation and WASH interventions.
- Experience in field assessments, contractor supervision, and reporting.
- Good geographical knowledge of the area of operation.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the area of responsibility.
Languages
- Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
