Omar Meksassi

Omar Meksassi currently is the co-founder of The IRIS Company currently based in between Belgrade and Beirut, an enterprise dealing with development, data, design and consultancy, with a range of partners including Google.org and Facebook. His education revolved at the beginning around computer science and project management in the American University of Beirut, moving to a more advance/international scope with a master of Data Science from The Open university in London and another bachelor in Behavioral Psychology, combing both traits of technology and human behaviorism.
Omar previously worked as an independent digital and non-profit contracted with multiple international organizations and enterprises including Microsoft, European Union, British Council and International Alert, as one of the most aspiring experience is with the International Rescue Committee NY as a Regional ICT Projects Manager based in Europe specifically Belgrade, Serbia for 4 years managing a multi-sectorial environment of ICT integration within humanitarian programming and developing innovations projects in Europe and SRR region for the IRC. Having direct involvement in the management, development, deployment, training and the design of simultaneous development/innovations projects, Projects include: Refugee.info | Alkhadamat.info | Comet Reporting and data analysis | Gas Registrations | EPRU fast assessments | CommCare | Spreadsheet reader | Balance checker | Kobo Toolkit | Emergency Roadmap. While having +7 years working experience in the private sector managing SMB and Enterprise scale IT departments focused on healthcare, security, energy, development and governmental fields.
