Short Bio
Nadeem Khaddaj is a seasoned non-profit executive and university lecturer with over 22 years of extensive experience in NGO management, organizational development, and capacity strengthening. He has a distinguished track record in humanitarian governance, strategic planning, support services (finance, HR, administration, IT, and logistics), grant compliance, and risk management.

Currently serving as the Country Director of Asmae – Association Soeur Emmanuelle in Lebanon, Nadeem has successfully expanded program portfolios, strengthened institutional frameworks, and built strategic partnerships. He also lectures at the Lebanese American University, where he contributed to the revamping of the NGO Continuous Learning Education Program and delivers specialized courses on humanitarian architecture, financial management, and HR policy development.

Nadeem has held key leadership roles with Save the Children International and Save the Children Sweden, where he spearheaded finance and support services reforms during critical periods, including the Syrian refugee crisis and international office transitions. His work has impacted operations across Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, oPt, Zambia, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Peru.

He has also led and delivered high-impact training programs for startups and NGOs, including financial sustainability workshops, fundraising strategies, and capacity-building sessions for entrepreneurs and humanitarian professionals.

Nadeem holds a Master's in Political Science and International Relations with a focus on NGO Management from La Sagesse University and is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree in Fraud and Risk Management at Salford University in the UK. He is fluent in Arabic and English and is widely recognized for his leadership, integrity, and commitment to ethical humanitarian action
Experience with the Civil Society
Nadeem Khaddaj brings over two decades of impactful engagement with civil society organizations (CSOs), both in Lebanon and internationally. His work reflects a deep understanding of the operational, financial, and strategic dimensions of CSOs, with a strong emphasis on capacity strengthening, governance, compliance, and sustainability.

As Country Director of Asmae – Association Soeur Emmanuelle, Nadeem has led partnerships with local civil society actors, focusing on strengthening their institutional frameworks through capacity-building initiatives, strategic planning, and operational oversight. He has ensured that partner CSOs adhere to national regulations and international best practices, while also equipping them with tools to improve their programmatic and financial sustainability.

At Save the Children International, he held senior leadership roles that placed him at the heart of civil society engagement. As Deputy Country Director for Support Services and Counter-Fraud Focal Point, he collaborated with a wide range of local NGOs and CSOs, providing training on anti-corruption, compliance, and risk mitigation. He was instrumental in building the capacity of local partners in financial management, HR, procurement, and logistics—ensuring strong accountability mechanisms and transparent operations.

His regional role with Save the Children Sweden also involved close collaboration with CSOs across the MENA region. Nadeem provided direct support to partners in Yemen, oPt, and Lebanon, and contributed to regional training programs that enhanced proposal development, financial planning, and grants management capacities.

Nadeem has also conducted organizational assessments for local foundations and CSOs, including the Amir Magid Arsalan Foundation and Beit el Yatim el Derze. These assessments covered governance systems, financial health, program delivery, and internal control mechanisms, resulting in tailored action plans for institutional development.

Through his consultancy and teaching roles at the Lebanese American University, Nadeem continues to empower current and future civil society leaders. He has designed and delivered courses targeting NGO professionals, fostering a new generation of practitioners equipped to respond to complex humanitarian and development challenges.

His approach to civil society engagement is rooted in empowerment, sustainability, and accountability—making him a trusted leader and partner across the sector.
