يسرّ المركز الدولي للعدالة الانتقالية الإعلان عن مسابقة "المتيقظون" الفنية، وهي عبارة عن دعوة مفتوحة للفنانين اللبنانيين والتونسيين، وكذلك الفنانين المقيمين في لبنان أو تونس، للخوض في موضوع "صوت معارضة الواقع". وستعرض المسابقة أعمال أولئك الذين يقومون بتوثيق وإحياء ذكرى قصص مجتمعاتهم خلال فترات عدم الاستقرار والمقاومة والتغيير.

The International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) is pleased to announce the “Wide Awake Art Contest,” an open call to Lebanese and Tunisian artists as well as artists living in Lebanon or Tunisia to explore the theme “the Sound of Dissent.” The contest will showcase works by those who are documenting and memorializing their communities’ stories in times of instability, resistance, and change.

Meseret, Ethiopian migrant domestic worker in Lebanon

Thursday 8th October, Beirut International human rights NGO Legal Action Worldwide (LAW) has launched a ground-breaking slavery case in Lebanon. LAW represents Meseret, a 38-year-old migrant domestic worker who was kept as a slave in a Beirut apartment for seven years until 2019. She was locked inside the home without payment and subject to serious abuse and neglect. “Whenever I asked about my salary, my employer beat me,” Meseret says, now from her home in Ethiopia.
