UNRWA declared the activation of its Emergency Response in Lebanon on 24 September 2024, immediately opening two emergency shelters. Between 25 September and 27 September, UNRWA has opened five additional emergency shelters, bringing the total number of operational UNRWA emergency shelters to seven.

It’s been almost a year since the war on Lebanon started in absolute silence from the international community. The last two weeks however have witnessed a horrific increase in violence, with so far and according to the latest figures, 690 deaths, including 50 children and 94 women, in addition to 2316 injured, and more than 111,700 individuals displaced.

أطلقت المؤسسة الفلسطينية لحقوق الإنسان (شاهد) تقريرها السنويّ للعام 2023، مسلطةً الضوء على أبرز المستجدات حول واقع اللاجئين الفلسطينيين في لبنان، ومعرجّةً على أوضاعالفلسطينيين في الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة. عُني التقرير بعناوين عدّة، أبرزها الأوضاع القانونية للاجئين الفلسطينيين في لبنان، وتقييم لأداء الأونروا خلال عام 2023، إضافة لأوضاع اللاجئين في قطاع غزة في ظل الحرب المستمرة عليهم، وخلص في الختام إلى مجموعة من التوصيات التي من شأنها أن تحسّن من أوضاع اللاجئين الفلسطينيين وتحفظ لهم حقوقهم.

يدين مركز سيدار للدراسات القانونية بشدة المجزرة البشعة التي ارتكبتها إسرائيل يوم الثلاثاء 17 تشرين الأول 2023، بحق المدنيين الأبرياء والمصابين والمرضى الذين كانوا يتلقون العلاج في مستشفى «المعمداني» في غزة، واستشهد جراء القصف أكثر من 500 شهيد، أغلبهم من النساء والأطفال، فيما أصيب أكثر من ألف آخرين بإصابات خطيرة.

ويمثل ذلك انتهاكاً صارخاً للقوانين الدولية وحقوق الإنسان، ويطالب المحكمة الجنائية بفتح تحقيق عاجل في الجرائم المرتكبة بحق الشعب الفلسطيني، لارتكاب هذه الجرائم داخل الأراضي الفلسطينية والتي صادقت علي ميثاق روما.

In 2014, Mohammad had arrived Lebanon with his family. He knew later he is wanted by the Syrian Military Forces and Syrian State Security and is wanted as well to do the obligatory Military Service.

On 21 January 2023, Mohammad was arrested at a checkpoint by the Lebanese Army in Chtaura in Beqaa, very close where he lives. He was referred afterward to the Military Court in Beirut.

في عام 2014، وصل محمد إلى لبنان مع عائلته. عرف فيما بعد أنه مطلوب من قبل جهاز الأمن العسكرية السوري وأمن الدولة السوري، ومطلوب أيضاً لأداء الخدمة العسكرية الإجبارية.

في 21 كانون الثاني 2023، أعتقل محمد عند نقطة تفتيش من قبل الجيش اللبناني في شتورة في البقاع، بالقرب من مكان إقامته. وأحيل بعد ذلك إلى المحكمة العسكرية في بيروت.

بتاريخ 20 أيلول 2023، حكم عليه بالبراءة من المحكمة العسكرية، لكن بتاريخ 22 أيلول 2023، تم تحويله إلى المديرية العامة للأمن العام في بيروت. وعلم لاحقاً أن السلطات اللبنانية ستقوم بترحيله إلى سوريا رغم أن الحكم لم يتضمن بند بوجوب ترحيله.

Members of the Collective of Social Protection Experts, are writing to the World Bank concerning the latest agreement on a loan for the Emergency Social Safety Net (ESSN).

In light of our previous statements that have repeatedly voiced the importance and urgency of universal social protection, we, the collective of social protection experts, maintain that subsidisation or de-subsidisation are not the solutions for addressing long lasting inequality and inequity in the country. In the current crises that Lebanon is witnessing, we reiterate the urgency to enact a comprehensive universal social protection framework, based on a social contract, and guaranteeing protection for all during their life-cycle.

قررت 13 عاملة إثيوبية في 22 حزيران مغادرة ملجأ كاريتاس لبنان الذي نقلتهنّ إليه وزارة العمل من أمام قنصلية بلادهنّ حيث تُركن في أيار وحزيران 2020. وأحالت العاملات السبب إلى تعرّضهنّ لانتهاكات في حقوقهنّ.

"دليل مدني يجول لبنان" هي سلسلة من اللقاءات تهدف إلى تقليص المسافة بين دليل مدني ومستخدميه، كما أنها تسعى إلى إتاحة التواصل مع الجهات الفاعلة في المجتمع المدني من ناحية، والمستخدمين الأفراد من ناحية أخرى. بالإضافة، تهدف هذه اللقاءات إلى تعريف مستخدمي دليل مدني على تحديثات الموقع وعرض كيفية استخدام المنصة والاستفادة منها بشكل كامل. في سياق تقلص الفضاء المدني المحلي والخطر المتزايد عليه، يجد مركز دعم لبنان ضرورة في العودة  إلى المبادئ الأساسية وتعزيز شبكات التعاون بين مختلف فاعلي المجتمع المدني وتعزيز المجتمع المدني وأثره.
