يأتي تغيير اسم المركز ليعكس بشكل أفضل عملَه المستمرّ الذي شهدَ توسُّعًا ونموًّا خلال ١٥ عامًا، بما يتماشى مع شعاره العلوم الاجتماعية من أجل التغيير من خلال الأبحاث التحويلية والتعاون.
