DRC in Lebanon The Danish Refugee Council began operating in Lebanon in 2004. Since then, the organization has partnered with local and international NGOs to implement different programs that followed the country’s needs. Today, DRC’s main focus is on assisting those affected by the Syrian crisis, including refugees and members of the hosting communities. This joint programme between UNDP and UN Habitat aims at working at the national and local levels to improve dwellers' access to basic urban services in Palestinian Gatherings in Lebanon with particular attention to the Adjacent Areas of Palestinian Refugee Camps.

UNDP, through the CEDRO project, and the Ministry of Energy & Water published the first version of the "National Wind Atlas of Lebanon" which will create a growing momentum in Lebanon towards strengthening and developing the renewable energy sector in the country.

In what follows we propose the establishment of a network concerned with the encouragement of public participation in reconstruction.

The proposal is to build a network from existing institutions and bodies already present on the ground with SAMIDOUN, and to build social centers working on various identified issues.
