DRC in Lebanon The Danish Refugee Council began operating in Lebanon in 2004. Since then, the organization has partnered with local and international NGOs to implement different programs that followed the country’s needs. Lebanon has made significant strides in improving education in recent years, but much remains to be done.

Since March 2012, several towns and villages in the North, the Bekaa and the South started receiving Lebanese families who fled Syria, against the backdrop of sectarian conflicts. Most of those families left their hometown decades ago and got Syrian citizenship.
