EL HAY MURAL PAINTING PROJECT
About SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL:
SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL opened its Lebanon mission in March 2013. Our activities aim to improve the living conditions of Syrian refugees in northern Lebanon, which accommodates a third of the people fleeing Syria, and to reduce the health risks that they are facing. Our main fields of intervention are located in North Lebanon (Tripoli and surrounding districts, Akkar region) and are focused on livelihoods and basic assistance, WaSH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), Shelter and Community Mobilization (aiming at supporting self-management in the sites).
About the project:
The overall objective of this project is to enhance community cohesion and social stability in Qobbe area of Tripoli, focusing on three sub-neighborhoods: Charaani, Rahbeit Street and Old Qobbe. The project contains multiple activities, including shelter rehabilitation, hygiene promotion and rehabilitation of public spaces.
We are looking for artists to create several murals in public spaces in Qobbe with the goals of improving the aesthetics of the area, and help promote positive messages within the community. This will be implemented with strong community participation.
Because a primary objective is to enhance social stability, successful candidates must demonstrate the ways in which the activity contributes to cohesion in the area.
Timeframe and expectations:
