Football Coaching Program For Youth - Coaching Sessions

Introduction Islamic Relief believes that all Syrian Refugees have the right to personal dignity and protection from abuse and it recognizes the special responsibility and duty of care it bears to create a safe environment within the projects and programs it manages and supports. Standing up for Gender Justice is an active choice for Islamic Relief Lebanon, because of its centrality to upholding human dignity, which is at the heart of everything we do. We chose the term Gender Justice because it encapsulates both equity and equality. And in supporting the achievement of holistic wellbeing and the fulfillment of human potential, we endeavor to integrate gender perspectives that promote justice for males and females into all our humanitarian, development and advocacy work in a faith literate and culturally-sensitive way. In this direction, Gender-Based Policy is followed in all aspects of the project. Gender information analysis is basic to the roles and responsibilities of staff, activators and beneficiaries and is applicable in the following processes: assessment, monitoring and evaluation of the project for both males and females including the families. In order to offer multidisciplinary awareness session for youth throughout physical coaching sessions, Islamic Relief “IRL” will provide football coaching sessions for 32 young players from Al Ouzaei shelter under the “Protect Syrian Refugees in Lebanon-phasell”project in South Lebanon - Saida area, under the outcome of MH/psychosocial awareness session. The intervention will be managed by IRL team in cooperation with a qualified physical consultant. The physical approach will be integrated with psychosocial support as well. The young team will receive regular awareness session regarding MH/psychosocial wellbeing based on needs assessment. IRL seeks to contract a consultant/football coach to give the training and coaching sessions for young players using a football playground as location, and offering the opportunity to have fun and to develop self-esteem, confidence, leadership and teamwork skills. Responsibilities The consultant/coach will provide 15 coaching sessions and advice the young team, on the strategic direction of the sessions’ themes based on their specific needs assessment of physical knowledge and experience. He will train them on the basics of football plays including strategies, passes, and tactics; warm up… He/ she will also insure to maintain their physical heath and sportive ability in good condition. The coach will coordinate with IRL staff to assist us with his notice and observation in order to accomplish adherent psychosocial group support and awareness session based on needs assessment. Thus delivering the following: Overall coaching session’s themes program, content & justification of the methodology. Agenda for the coaching sessions and modules. The coach will also complete and submit 1 final report at the end of these coaching sessions to emphasize the practical implementation of all methodologies and technics that has been used and discussed in the coaching sessions. Progress and development of beneficiaries’ performance, skills and ability shall be measurable through pre and post-test. Capacity building The coach will provide different themed coaching sessions to 32 young players. He/she will also advise them on how to empower their instructional and physical wellbeing and on how to deal with stress and frustration caused by displacement, wars and emergencies. He /she will maintain the concept of social cohesion and resurrection as part of psychosocial resilience. Reporting Following the review of the first set of deliverables to IRL and based on the satisfactory delivery, the coach will provide a final coaching report in English with recommendations. Coaching outlines titles: The coach will be committed to deliver the following coaching session’s instructions and guidelines (in Arabic): Coaching Sessions instructions & guidelines 1. Warm up 2. Passes/cones exercises and strategy 3. Basic technics of football plays 4. Arranging for football plays between the players. Requirements: The consultant/coach shall be an expert and qualified to apply for the mentioned coaching sessions: University degree in Physical education. At least 5 years of work experience in humanitarian Field Cross-cultural working experience in the field of football desired; Experience in Human Resources and Capacity Building is desirable. Languages: Proficiency in English for reporting purposes and Arabic to conduct the coaching sessions. Competencies: The consultant/coach will be evaluated against the following criteria: timeliness of the deliverables, clarity of presentations, responsibility, initiative and communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a multi-cultural setting; Flexibility; Team player; role module Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision; Good analytical skills; Ability to complete tasks within a set time frame; Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian issues Proposal Submission and Evaluation The evaluation of Technical Proposals will be according to following criteria. Introduction (including the consultant’s understanding of the required assignment) Qualifications and relevant experience of the consultant. Proposed approach and methodology for conducting the assignment with preliminary time schedule. Completeness and clarity of the proposal Submission and Evaluation of Financial Proposal The financial proposal shall show all the direct costs related to the coaching sessions duration including the coaching fees/session.
