Trainer On Rational Use Of Drugs

Introduction: PU-AMI seeks to hire a qualified trainser to conduct training on "Rational Use of Drugs". "Irrational use of medicines is a major problem, WHO estimate that more than half of all medicines are prescribed, dispensed, or sold inappropriately. The overuse, underuse, or misuse of medicines results in wastage of scarce resources. Inappropriate use of antimicrobials, often in inadequate dosages. Failure to prescribe in accordance with clinical guidelines." Purpose: - To Deliver and develop a two days training for two groups (one group per day) of 10 persons/group representing Primary Health Care Center staff (Doctors & Nurses). The participants will be provided with the necessary knowledge on Rational Use of Drugs. - The purpose of this course is to familiarize the attendees with the concept of the rational use of drugs in primary healthcare settings. - It contributes towards building a foundation of knowledge and skills to better prepare primary health care staff to provide high quality services according to international and national standards. - This course focuses on understanding the components of the drug use system and give an overview of the process of changing drug use. - The attendees will be introduced to the factors that influence the decision –making process in drug use. - Attendees will be able to understand the impact of inappropriate use of drugs, and factors underlying irrational use of drugs. - Participants receive a broad overview of the top 10 diseases in Phc settings and standard treatment guidelines. - Encourage participants to think broadly about the rational use of antibiotics in PHC.- Participants receive a broad overview of the top 10 diseases in Phc settings and standard treatment guidelines. - Participants will be familiar with MOH standards in PHCC related to the drug reconciliation process. Duties & Responsibilities: Develop the content of the training including agenda, working methods and procedures, in close collaboration with the Project Team; Develop detailed Curriculum and training modules including materials, teaching materials and handouts. Trainer will have to present draft curriculum and training modules to Program team prior to the training; Conduct and facilitate two days of training for 20 persons. Prepare and provide a report on the delivery of the training including trainer’s feedback, and recommendations. The trainer will be expected to produce training and supporting materials specifically materials on Rational Use of Drugs. The trainer will be expected to prepare and facilitate training sessions for the mentioned topics. Deliverables: The trainer should submit Training materials and teaching tools on Rational Use of Drugs. Job requirements: - A Bachelor degree in Medicine - A Master degree in Health care and Quality Management. - Previous experience in primary health care management. - Proven experience in producing training materials - Proven experience in Rational Use of Drugs - Proven experience in designing, facilitating and providing trainings. - Have great communication skills and presentation skills - Significant training experience and facilitation skills. - Flexibility in working with different age groups and different genders - Able to provide training in both Arabic and English Expected date of Training: Through the last week of October 2015.
