DESCRIPTION Request for Quotation for Website Country: Lebanon Authority : Lebanese Environment Forum (LEF) Project: Promoting Responsible Hunting Practices in Lebanon using community based approach Contact: Media coordinator/ Content Provider/ Bassam Kantar/ 03350956/ bassam.kantar@gmail.com Deadline : 4:00 p.m. Beirut Local Time of 25 August 2014 PREFACE Lebanese Environment Forum (LEF) is implementing a project titled “Promoting responsible hunting practices in Lebanon using community based approach Project”. The project is funded by The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund and implemented by The “Lebanese Environment Forum” (LEF). Lebanese Environment Forum (LEF) and the Society for the protection of nature in Lebanon (SPNL) signed a partnership agreement with the several municipalities to promote responsible hunting practices in Lebanon through initiating a pilot model public hunting area – PHA . LEF has received a CEPF grant to promote sustainable hunting practices in Lebanon, using a community-based approach. The project will complement other work by the BirdLife International/UNDP-GEF Migratory Soaring Birds project, and by the Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL), the BirdLife national partner. SPNL is currently working on the identification of 10 PHAs on municipal land distributed in the different Lebanese regions. The project aims to develop a good model for cooperation between conservation NGOs in Lebanon towards a common goal, and the management of possible PHAs in all Lebanese territory through collaborative efforts. Based on the recommendations of the project's communication plan, LEF will develop and produce various awareness materials to be used by the LEF conservation NGOs including a multilingual website. WEBSITE The LEF invites qualified companies/freelancers to submit a quotation for providing a multilingual website. The Official “Promoting sustainable hunting practices in Lebanon” website should be created in a collaborative effort between the project manager and qualified freelancer/company. It can be under LEF domain name, or on dedicated domain name. The project positioning statement and tagline have consequences for the project website. Not only to be consistent in using the slogan of “The art of making land produce sustained annual crops of wild game for recreational use.”, but also in terms of formulating categories of knowledge in a demand oriented way, keeping in mind who the target audience is (e.g. hunters) and what kind of knowledge they may look for. The main role proposed for the website is to establish an effective and efficient communication tool that keeps all readers connected and informed about the latest news and events.
