Evaluation “Rapporteur”/ Note Take Social Impact (SI) is a Washington, DC-area international development management consulting firm. Project Objective: Through PMSPL II, Social Impact supplements the monitoring and program management efforts of USAID/Lebanon staff and verifies, monitors, and supports USAID program performance in Lebanon. The period of performance of this project is September 2015 – September 2020. Under this contract, Social Impact has been asked to support a mid-term performance evaluation of a USAID-funded activity, the Middle East North Africa Investment Initiative (MENA II). MENA II provides support to early stage businesses in order to create and sustain jobs, advance and develop the investment eco-system, and encourage increased equity investment in early stage businesses.  The evaluation will take place during November 2017. It will be managed by a team of experts in investment initiatives and evaluation management, who will conduct several Key informative interviews and focus group discussions.  Position Description: SI is seeking a Professional Translator/Note-taker to support the evaluation team during the field work, that will take place from the 6 to 17 November. He/she will be requested to attend the meetings and focus group discussion to take the notes the interview sessions and the focus group discussions, and to prepare minutes of these meetings in a timely manner. The evaluation team is foreseeing between 3 to 4 meetings daily, from 8 to 4 pm, excluding weekends. The Professional Note Taker will report to the Evaluation Team Leader. **Please note: This is a local position. Only candidates with Lebanese citizenship will be considered.** Responsibilities: Attend interviews and focus group discussions as assigned by the Evaluation Team Leader. Prepare comprehensive and clear meeting notes in timely manners. Submit meetings summaries for the Evaluation Team Leader within 48 hours following the meeting. To work in a professional, helpful and flexible manner, maintaining confidentiality at all times.  Qualifications: Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree of the equivalent. Experience as a simultaneous translator is an advantage. Experience in note taking or a similar field is desired, the topics covered in the interviews may be highly technical, and your experience should show that you can cover technical material Your ability to prepare notes in clear concise English will be critical in the selection process. Your ability to provide clear, succinct and relevant meeting notes and focus group discussions summaries is vital.  Good IT skills and access to a computer. All work is to be done in MS Word, or Excel. Ability to work on own initiative, independently and to deadlines. Well organized, punctual and reliable.
