Education Technology Officer

Education Technology Officer World Learning has an immediate vacancy for a Beirut-based “Education Technology Officer” for the USAID-funded Quality Instruction Towards Access and Basic Education Improvement (QITABI) in Lebanon. Background:  The USAID-funded Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement (QITABI) project, aims to expand equitable access and improve learning outcomes for vulnerable students in Lebanese public schools. The project will have an immediate focus on alleviating the strains to the system that are resulting from the continuing inflow of Syrian refugee children into Lebanese public schools. In collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Lebanon (MEHE), QITABI will improve facilities, services, and teaching as well as effectively engage communities and school councils to improve learning and increase the chances of youth remaining in the education system. The project has three components: Component 1: Improving reading outcomes for primary level public school students   Component 2: Expanding access to safe and relevant education for vulnerable public school students Component 3: Strengthening management system to better direct and monitor education   Job Responsibilities Reports to DCOP Work closely with DCOP to design a working schedule and proceed with implementation of ICT in education activities for Components 1 and 2 Provide support in the implementation and coordination of QITABI project Components 1 and 2 activities within the targeted public primary schools Follow-up on the coordination between QITABI project and MEHE/CERD/DOPS to inform and coordinate on ICT projects at the level of primary education Coordinate with Component leads and partners on the implementation of ICT in Education activities. Record and disseminate reports/ minutes of meeting Support the capacity building workshops to successfully integrate ICT in schools Conduct routine school visits to support teachers on the proper use of ICT in the targeted schools under Components 1 and 2 Review existing documents and reports that feed into the ICT component reports Track the progress of activities performed against the project work plan Provide capacity building to beneficiaries when needed Provide cooperatively coordination with All QITABI   Keep QITABI management informed about complete project status and issues that may impact program implementation, Provide monthly summary tracking reports of the visits conducted to schools and the level of technology use at the school, the reports to include: Which schools/teachers need additional support and coaching/training Successful ICT in education implementations Short term monthly plans of support and visits charting the schools to visit Represent WL/Project at meetings and conferences, as needed Other related tasks as assigned  Required Qualifications: Bachelor degree in ICT in Education/Education other relevant field Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience Demonstrated experience in integrating ICT in education Experience in training and facilitation or coaching Knowledge of Lebanese public schools and the public educational system Strong experience in training on the use of interactive board in educational settings Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet Advanced experience on training and use of Active Inspire Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Willingness to work in the different regions of Lebanon when needed Fluency in Arabic and English is required Excellent reporting and documentation skills in both English and Arabic
