Summary
International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC), headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland is the official humanitarian relief agency of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America. Since its inception in 1992, IOCC has delivered $488 million in relief and development programs to families and communities in more than 50 countries.
IOCC is looking for full time field officer to be part of the emergency intervention in the Beqaa Valley, specifically, Zahle. The field officer will be ensuring that the most vulnerable groups of the community are selected for receiving food assistance. The field officer is also responsible of delivering food and keeping record of all the beneficiary delivery forms.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Coordinate with SDCs and local authorities for primary information and potential lists of beneficiaries.
Conduct Vulnerability Assessments and identify the targeted number of families who are eligible for food assistance.
Document the list of beneficiary families with their contacts and the justification of selection.
Lead the distribution of food pots to families –from and back to the kitchen- on a daily basis 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday).
Monitor the distribution of food pots to families by collecting families’ signatures upon reception of food pots.
Control the number of pots to be distributed and the empty pots to be brought back to the kitchen.
Conduct awareness sessions and activities addressing different topics.
Conduct informal oral evaluations with families regarding the food quality/taste and transmit the information to the program coordinator for adjustment.
Submit regular reports to the Program Coordinator.
Monitor activities and conduct PDMs and End line/Satisfaction Questionnaires
Perform other duties as required or assigned (this responsibility will always be the final item that is listed).
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA):
- Some prior knowledge on community development would be an asset
- Good Listening Skills
- Strong Communication Skills
- Flexible with good diplomacy, tact and negotiation skills
- Experience in planning awareness activities and campaigns
- Well Organized

- Sensitivity to the needs and priorities of different sectors of the community.

Education: Bachelor Degree
Experience:
- Good knowledge in the field of public health, in particular in the areas of health promotion, vaccination, community health, communicable diseases (in particular water and sanitation related diseases
- Practical working experience within health services, social work or with development and/or emergency programs that focus on health awareness, vaccination and/or disease prevention.
