Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare in almost 70 countries around the world. MSF offers assistance to people based on need and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. When MSF witnesses serious acts of violence, neglected crises, or obstructions to its activities, the organisation may speak out about this. Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) began working in Lebanon in 1976 in response to the Lebanese Civil War, sending medical teams to the south of the country and Beirut. This was MSF’s first mission to a war zone. Today, MSF is present in the North of Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley, Beirut and Saïda, offering, free and high quality primary health care  services to people in need continually since 2011. This includes treatment of acute diseases and a comprehensive reproductive health package, in addition to mental health support and health promotion services. MSF also offers treatment for chronic diseases and runs three mother and child care centres across the country. Main Purpose Responsible for  looking after the welfare of children of MSF employee, according to hygiene standards and security rules, strictly observing the daily regimen, which is specified by parents in written form or/and verbally. Execute, according to hygienic standards, housekeeping, cleaning and tiding up activities in order to ensure private areas are in good condition. Accountabilities Carry out tasks as specified by parents; Create a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment for the children; Supervise the children’s activities at all times. The child should not be left alone and not to be left unattended to unauthorized people; Plan and prepare meals/ snacks and feed the children; Bath and dress the children Place the children down for naps and bedtime; Perform housework related to child care, including washing the children’s clothes, cleaning up after meals and tidying play areas; Entertain the children during the day with available toys; Entertain the children with tales, songs and any kind of educational activities; Teach the children good social manners; Play with the children, both indoors and outdoors; Plan and lead educational activities, including reading, with the children; Engage in creative and stimulating activities; Verbally discipline the children, when necessary, in the manner defined by the parents; Administer medicine to the children according to the parents instructions; Help children with their school homework; Implement daily routines set by the parents; Take all possible measures to prevent accidents in home/external activity locations. In case of accidents, child minder should immediately inform parents about this (injuries, falling, intoxication, etc.) and immediately provide the first aid. Should call the medical doctor if required; Look after the cleanness of the child/children, including  clothes, shoes, other domestic appliances, toys and other items, surrounding the child; Follow at all times all hygiene standards and security rules; Give regular feedback to the parents and report directly any issue or incident; Keep premises properly locked (doors, windows). Plan and coordinate leaves and holidays according to the parents’ schedule.   Working Schedule 16 hours per week (Monday-Tuesday-Thursday-Friday from 2:30 to 5:30 and Wednesday 1:30-5:30)   Requirements Education Secondary school, Pedagogical education or nursing education is an asset; Experience Essential, working experience in taking care of children in a similar role Languages              Essential, proficient in English or French and Arabic language Competencies Commitment to MSF Principles  Cross Cultural Awareness  Behavioral Flexibility Stress Management Planning and organizing
