Lebanon Water Project (LWP)  Call for Resumes  Communications and Outreach Specialist, Long-term position   Background: DAI seeks candidates for a Communications and Outreach Specialist position for the USAID-funded “Lebanon Water Project (LWP).” LWP is a five-year project that will work to increase reliable and sustainable access to potable water for Lebanese citizens; improve water management practices and enhance the efficiency and sustainability of public water utilities, while raising awareness about sustainable water use practices, and promote better water governance to help assure long-term protection of Lebanon’s water resources.   General Objective: The Communications and Outreach Specialist will assist the Strategic Communications Director in the development of targeted messaging and general information campaigns for the project.   Responsibilities: Produce engaging communication material across different platforms: social media, print publications, paid media, and news media. Develop effective communication messages for various audiences, while using different tools. Support community engagement activities and event planning aimed at engaging civil society and citizens in improving water use behavior. Produce formal reports for USAID and compelling PowerPoint presentations (in English and Arabic) for technical teams. Contribute to producing creative and engaging audiovisual reports and communication messages. Provide assistance and creative advice on other LWP reporting requirements such as the Monthly Reports, the Quarterly Report, Impact Studies, Success Stories, etc. Work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team to ensure that M&E indicators feed effectively into communication pieces and reporting to USAID. Respond to ad hoc reporting requests from USAID. Represent the Communications Team if the Strategic Communications Director is out or not available. Periodic in-country travel may be required.   Qualifications: Degree in communications, journalism, marketing, social studies or related field required. Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience required. Experience with USAID or other international donors highly preferred. Experience designing messaging and public outreach campaigns required. Experience working on service delivery improvement (e.g., water sector) and community engagement preferred. Experience working with the public sector and NGOs a plus. Presentation and event planning skills. Excellent communication skills - both written and oral in Arabic and English; proven proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Facebook (as a marketing tool). Fluency in English and Arabic required.
