Job Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Officer, the post holder will be responsible for coordinating and implementing Alert’s projects and events in the North. She/he will be responsible for the implementation of Alert’s justice, livelihood, and protection project activities taking place in the North of Lebanon. She/he will coordinate project activities and undertake all logistical preparations required for the proper implementation of the project. The post holder will support the organisation of several dialogue sessions held in the North as well as coordinate with Alert’s local partners a livelihood program for refugees and vulnerable host populations. Additionally, the role of the post holder is to maintain and consolidate Alert’s relations with local partners, authorities and influential people. Duties and Responsibilities
1. Project Coordination
Responsible for the implementation and supervision of Alert’s justice and livelihood opportunities project in the North;
Work closely with project partners and local actors in the North in order to ensure proper coordination of activities;
Take the lead on all logistical preparations required for activities, trainings, workshops, and round-table discussions in the North;
Coordinate and supervise Alert’s community-based initiatives to be implemented in the North;
Support in research and focus group efforts and collection of quantitative/qualitative data;
Maintain positive relationships and regularly update relevant authorities and local actors;
Represent Alert at the field-level protection and livelihood working groups and sector meetings;
Stay abreast with socio-political developments in the North and Lebanon generally.
2. Project design, monitoring and evaluation
Collect and capture relevant information discussed during mediation trainings, workshops, and sessions;
Support on setting an appropriate monitoring and evaluation system;
Report to The Senior Programme Officer and will work closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Officer based in Beirut.
3. Contributing to Alert’s organisational processes and strategies
Represent Alert’s values and ideas and be a spokesperson for the organisation at relevant conferences, seminars and other meetings;
Any other task relevant to the position.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
BA or equivalent in social and political sciences, human rights, or other relevant disciplines
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience working with a development organisation, including significant experience working at field level.
Good knowledge of Lebanese politics and understanding of the political and social context of the North,
Fluent in Arabic and English, excellent communication skills in Arabic are a must
Able to influence and motivate others by making their case
Demonstrates the ability to take the initiative
Understands or has the ability to understand quickly Alert’s approach to peacebuilding
Gets on well with people of diverse backgrounds and in diverse roles
Is computer literate and numerate
Excellent inter-personal, communication and presentation skills
Skills and experience in projects implementation, monitoring, and evaluation
Proven knowledge and understanding of programme cycle management, information management and reporting
Strong analytical skills

25 working days per year (pro rata) plus Lebanon statutory holidays.
Notice period
There will be an initial 1 month probationary period during which notice will be 15 days on either side. On successful completion of the probationary period notice will be one month.
Working hours
Full time staff are expected to work a standard 40 hours per week, a maximum of 48 hours per week, with some flexibility around start and finish times to be agreed with the line manager. All staff are required to work core hours10am–4pm.
