Social Worker

Job Title        : Social Worker Reports to     : Project Coordinator  Habitat For Humanity Lebanon (HFHL) is recruiting a Social Worker based in Hazmieh to be involved in the implementation of Shelter projects for Refugees (Syrian and Palestinians), Lebanese and Affected Populations in Lebanon. The Social Worker will be in charge of selecting beneficiaries of the shelter project HFH is intending to implement in Lebanon. The Social Worker will also be contributing in organizing campaigns and events related to the shelter component. Main Tasks Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Social Worker will: Participate to the general assessment before starting the rehabilitation work Outreach activities in collaboration with other staff members in order to identify beneficiaries and to provide information on services available; Facilitate the participation of all the segments of the target population to the planned activities, notably the most vulnerable ones (refugees, local community, youth, women, elderly, minority members, people with disabilities etc.), ensuring that proper attention is paid to specific emotional and physical needs; Support in the identification of the most vulnerable families in the area of the project intervention Conducting vulnerability assessment Liaising with local communities and government Be in charge of organizing the community meetings (planning, group…), and mobilizing the community regarding our shelter services Assist the Project Coordinator in procurement and logistics and all data gathering requirement Assist the Project Coordinator during the work meetings; Conduct peer-led focus groups discussions, informal skill training and awareness sessions with children, youth, men and women. Report daily the problems to the Project Coordinator and provide weekly reports Be available to participate in meetings and trainings in and outside the office Assist in any additional tasks assigned by the Project Coordinator and/or the Project Manager in line with the job profile Qualifications and Competencies:  (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) A Knowledge of Habitat Vision, Mission, Goals, Values and Mission Principles; Team Player and model of Servant Leadership A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience in the relevant field is required. Previous working experience in an international NGO (desirable) Experience in Shelter (emergency and development) program Good knowledge in Protection issues Strong observation, analytical and listening skills Excellent Communication skills The capacity to understand legal/procedural information and work accordingly The ability to negotiate/mediate/interpret on behalf of beneficiaries Proven sense of professional discretion, integrity, and ability to work in an international environment Respect of confidentiality and data protection protocols Ability to adapt or change priorities according to the changing situation within a mission or the organization itself; Well organized; Compassionate, caring, and non-judgmental personality. Punctuality and respect for applicable rules and procedures; Ethical and transparent decision-making Self-motivation, goal/result-orientation and team work; Flexibility, tolerance and maturity. Patience and the ability to remain calm in a crisis Flexibility to adapt to new roles, tasks and situations Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work flexible hours in the event of major emergencies Valid Driving License and ability to drive both automatic/manual cars (desirable)
