Psychosocial Support Volunteer

Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualifiedcandidate who can fit the Psycho Social Support Volunteer position in Tripoli office.   About the job  Build the capacity of and empower community-based PSS facilitators to deliver quality community based PSS to vulnerable children and caregivers.Your main duties and responsibilities will be:   • Support the identification of safe spaces to provide community based PSS (CB PSS) that adhere to the quality checklists for center-based and outreach activities shared at the inter-agency level  • Identify vulnerable children and caregivers in need of CB PSS in line with inter-agency selection criteria  • Identify Community Focal Points and members of Community Based Groups to deliver CB PSS as facilitators  • Support the coaching, mentoring and training to CB PSS Facilitators during a 2 month training program on DRC’s CB PSS curriculum for children and caregivers  • Identify and refer children and caregivers at high risk or engaged in child labor to relevant Focused PSS sessions   • Ensure the proper documentation of data collected (hard and soft copies) during CB PSS (attendance sheets, permission slips, parental consent, referrals etc.)   About you  To be successful in this role we expect you tohave excellent knowledge of child development and adult learning tehniques. Moreover, we also expect the following:   Required   • 1 to 2 years of experience in provision of Psychosocial support activities with children and caregivers   • At least 1 year experience providing coaching, training and mentoring on PSS activities with children and caregivers  • High School Diploma  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or other related field   Desirable  • Excellent facilitation skills  • Excellent capacity building, training, coaching and mentoring skills  • Good knowledge of CP and GBV case management principles   In this position, you are expected to demonstrate DRC’ five core competencies:    Striving for excellence: You focus on reaching results while ensuring an efficient process.  Collaborating: You involve relevant parties and encourage feedback.    Taking the lead: You take ownership and initiative while aiming for innovation.  Communicating: You listen and speak effectively and honestly.    Demonstrating integrity: You act in line with DRC’s vision and values.    We offer  Contract length: End of December 2017  Level: V; 28$/day Maximum of 16 Days   Duty Station: Tripoli  Start date: 25th of October 2017   Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Nationals; please refer to drc.ngo under Vacancies.
