Project Coordinator

Job Title       : Project Coordinator Reports to     : Project Manager Habitat For Humanity Lebanon (HFH) is recruiting a Project Coordinator based in Beirut to be involved in the implementation of Shelter projects for Refugees (Syrian and Palestinians), Lebanese and Affected Populations in Lebanon. Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator  is to coordinate multiple project activities including implementation, monitoring, training and reporting for housing and community projects vulnerable households and communities including Refugees (Syrian and Palestinian), Lebanese and Affected Populations in Lebanon aligned to project proposals and stakeholder agreements The Project Coordinator is the strategic link between the HFH project team and program leadership to implement projects in targeted communities The Project Coordinator also exhibits team leadership and support in administrative and financial processes as well as a key contributor to budgeting, planning, reporting, monitoring and evaluation of project performance. Key areas of responsibilities: Conducting a regular monitoring and evaluation process against project objectives. Providing supervision and capacity building of the engineering and social worker team. Contributing to, and facilitating the project implementation processes Communicating and liaising with local authorities, community leaders, beneficiaries and local partners. Supporting in developing and implementing new intervention models based on community and partner capacity and needs-assessment outcomes in each community. Monitoring and regular reporting of operational aspects of all projects to the Project Manager. Preparing and monitoring of the implementation of project work schedules, budgets and other relevant activities Ensuring that program staff are meeting deadlines and targets, ensuring best quality of intervention Ensuring that Program staff are maintaining records of the project and all administrative components efficiently. Overseeing the interim payment, variation, and financial and logistic process. Ensuring that works comply with relevant local legislation and donor requirements, taking into consideration HFH and donors’ thresholds. Assisting the Project Manager in developing and maintaining relationships with local authorities and community representatives, NGO's, and other stakeholders, with the objective of raising public awareness of HFHI and ensuring good co-operation with partners. Representing HFH on a local level with all government and non-governmental partners. Other duties assigned by the Project Manager.   Suitable candidates will need to satisfy the following requirements: University degree in a related field, engineering management is preferable. 4 – 6   years of experience in humanitarian /development sectors or related field in INGO or NGO. Previous experiences in project design, proposal development, monitoring, evaluation and report writing. Excellent organizational planning and analytical skills Basic knowledge of construction technology and methods is required Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite. Ability and willingness to travel extensively in Lebanon. Ability to train and mentor local organizations. Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic essential. Excellent communication skills. Ability to manage conflicts within the team and to provide solutions for problems to the Project Manager. Provide alternative solutions when confronted with problems that may affect the goals or deadlines for the project(s). Willingness to learn and adopt new technology and methodology Must have ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment with multi-national staff. Ability to work under pressure, be a self-starter, team builder, innovative and demonstrate the capacity for maintaining high professional standards.
