Animator - Education Mobile Unit

Assignment The Animator will work in the ITs (Inform settlements) in Khiam-Marjeyoun area, on an Education project (Remedial classes and Retention-Homework support classes) aiming at developing, delivering and monitoring outdoor recreational and educational activities to children aged between 7 – 14 years of age.   Key responsibilities To design and carry out recreational and Child Protection activities targeting children with a high- risk level of vulnerability. To replace teachers when absent. Support the Outreach Worker with child registration and data entry on children’s activity attendance. To develop a detailed weekly activity plan, indicating specifically the aim and the objectives of the activities and to closely monitor results achieved with the beneficiaries of the age groups mention above. To report on a weekly basis daily to the Social worker on the activities conducted. To ensure that the beneficiaries have the possibility to participate in designing the activity, in order to express them and to be heard. To ensure that the beneficiaries are all involved in the activity and that there is possibility for boys and girls to work both together and in gender based groups. Dealing with difficult behaviors (conflict, aggressiveness, introversion) of children. To monitor the child’s progresses, and to identify children in need and refer special cases to the social worker as soon as identified. To participate in the trainings provided by Amel. To participate in the weekly coordination meetings. To comply with the Amel Association Code of Conduct. Essential At least 1 year of experience with NGOs in community based work; Experience in psychosocial support/recreational activities; Strong understanding of refugee issues in the current Lebanese context; Experience in community mobilization in deprived communities; Excellent communications skills, with good understanding of relevant cross-cultural issues and ability to work with refugee and host community populations; Positive, respectful attitude and collaborative approach to problem solving; Dynamic leader with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations; Demonstrated attention to detail; ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently as well as cooperatively with team members; Capacity to work in team and flexibility to take on new tasks; Computer Literacy. Experience in Art therapy & theater.
