Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung   The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung (RLS) is a German political foundation affiliated with the German party “Die Linke” (The Left Party). RLS is a provider of civic education and a center for progressive social research (www.rosalux.de) We announce the following vacancy to support our team in the newly established RLS Beirut Office: 1. Position: Research assistant (part time)                                                                                              Working Time: 20 hours per week (2,5 days)   Starting Date: 20.10.2017 Main tasks and responsibilities: -        Conduct interviews with non-sectarian and progressive political actors in Lebanon on their agenda and ideas with a focus on the upcoming elections -        Transcribe the interviews into English or Arabic (according to the language of the interview) -        Conduct supportive secondary research on the topic -        Discuss the interviews and the research with the RLS team Professional and personal requirements: -        Bachelor’s degree in social science or related fields -        Good analytical and factual understanding of recent political developments in Lebanon -        Good analytical and factual understanding of recent political actors in Lebanon (mainly non-sectarian and progressive) -        Professional experience in qualitative research and interviews -        Sharing the understandings and values of RLS -        Willingness to travel -        Ability to work in a small team, conduct tasks independently and professionally -        Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic; -        Highly motivated, highly communicative and creative, well-organized The position will be offered to the selected candidate from 20 October 2017 until 20 December 2018 (two months)
