Health Information System Officer

The Health Information Officer is responsible to follow up on all health information system matters and will serve as the focal point for all field concerns related to the HIS system with the clinics. In addition, he/she is responsible in building the capacity of IMC teams through trainings and workshops. He/she will be in regular contact with MoPH IT focal points and IMC field staff to ensure timely and needed data collection is in place. He/she will report to the Deputy Health Coordinator and work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager and Senior Officer. Main Responsibilities: -          Extraction of the required monthly data for all health facilities from the HIS report and follow-up on any discrepancies or missing data. -          Work closely with IMC’s M&E team, Health Coordinator and IT consultant to stay abreast with all planned updates and changes to the HIS. -          Attend HIS trainings as needed -          Build the capacity of field and clinic staff on the HIS and other reporting systems -          Conduct regular data quality checkups -          Follow up on HIS support matters at IMC partner clinics: Coordinate with the MOPH IT focal points and field teams to schedule trainings as needed Support Health Officers and data entry clerks at IMC partner clinics to trouble-shoot issues related to HIS Track, share and ensure knowledge of any HIS updates with health officers and IMC partner clinics  Serve as the focal point between IMC partner clinics and the HIS MoPH consultant, working to triage requests, track problems in HIS and other reporting systems and following up to ensure resolution of all requests. Other: -          Conduct visits to IMC field sites on a regular basis -          Support the M&E team in conducting surveys, assessments and other monitoring activities as required, including but not limited to data entry, field visits and others. -          Any other duties requested by line managers. -          Adhere to all of IMC’s policies and procedures, including Code of Conduct and SOPs. Essential Undergraduate degree with one year of professional experience or Master’s degree. Fluent Arabic and English speaker, with strong English writing skills including the ability to summarize information clearly and draw together information from multiple sources in a cohesive manner. Good quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills. Highly competent in Microsoft Office suite. Desirable University degree in computer sciences, epidemiology, public health or other relevant academic discipline; Previous experience in Health, Community health Previous experience with the Health Information System Background in Monitoring & Evaluation
