ROLE PURPOSE:
The Project and Partnership Coordinator (PPC) will be responsible for the implementation of a UN-funded project aimed at empowering community-based organisations and supporting them in developing innovative initiatives to promote gender equality. The Project and Partnership Coordinator will work with the Gender Equality Specialist to ensure that project objectives are met and that grantees are capacitated to deliver selected projects.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: Director of Programme Operations
Dimensions: Save the Children International (SCI) Lebanon country office has a national coverage with field offices in the Bekaa, the North and Beirut. The project will be implemented throughout the country through partners operating in various regions.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Project Coordination:
Lead on the development of an implementation strategy and a work plan, as per project objectives
Monitor budget/expenditures based on the work plan; and analyse Budget-versus-Actual (BVA) reports to assess and correct any discrepancies
Follow up and report on milestones and deliverables and address deviations from the work plan and budget
Work with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Department to ensure adequate monitoring and evaluation of activities
Liaise with Support Departments on a regular basis with (including Finance, Logistics, and Administration) to ensure effective and efficient project delivery
Develop and maintain a network of stakeholders in relation to gender programming
Conduct project launching session with relevant stakeholders
With the support of the Director of Programme Operations, attend donor briefings and represent SCI in relevant fora
Partnership Coordination:
Ensure that the sub-grant agreements, terms of references, terms of partnerships, as well as other relevant contractual documents are in place for existing and new partnerships
Work with the Grants Management and Legal Departments to ensure that partnership tools and financial standards meet donor requirements and lobby for adaptation and flexibility as needed
Work with partners to ensure that adequate policies and procedures are in place, including policies on child safeguarding
Identify priority gaps in partner capacity (sectoral, programmatic and institutional), take the lead in the development of capacity building plans for the partners and ensure that those plans are effectively implemented and resourced (liaising with logistics, HR, finance, Technical Advisors and programme staff)
Design and develop training and technical capacity building materials for staff and partners as needed to improve their technical know-how
Develop and produce sub-grant communication materials in consultation with relevant stakeholders
Follow up and monitor grantees based on contractual agreements made with SCI through conducting field visits, attending project activities and producing timely reports for internal use on the status of on-going programming
Follow up on reporting requirements by grantees
Assist in the development of training/ awareness raising materials and Monitoring and Evaluation Tools, and organizes and conducts trainings for programme partners, beneficiaries and stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Degree in political studies, gender studies, international relations, human rights or development studies.
Minimum 3 years of experience in programme/project management and budget control, including experience working with implementing partners and grantees (experience in gender programming is a plus)
Experience in working with civil society organisations
Capacity to combine field and office work.
Proven managerial skills
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
Strength in interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Flexibility and willingness to change work practices and hours, and capability to work in insecure environment
Available to travel in country and outside Lebanon if needed
