1.Background
ACTED is an International Non-Governmental Organization registered in France with global operations in Central and South Asia, Europe, Middle-East and Africa. ACTED has been active in Lebanon since 2006 operating mainly in the North and Beirut and Mount Lebanon governorates of Lebanon. ACTED is implementing a program to improve the capacity of 13 Social Development Centers to provide services to vulnerable residents.
2. Functions
Assessment of the social centers and design of action plan Informing local stakeholders (authorities, community representatives) of the project;
Conducting capacity assessment
Designing support according to needs Oversight of implementation of support
Support on the Implementation of life skills training activities
Support in identification of project beneficiaries for life skills courses
Follow work plan and overseeing the implementation of life skills training activities, providing inputs on work plan accordingly on a weekly basis;
Be present on the running child protection unit at SDC and ensure unit is functioning properly.
Support on preparation of graduation ceremonies;
Providing daily and weekly progress reports.
Coordinate and support on partners activities when necessary.
Support on the Implementation of protection outreach campaigns and trainings
Support beneficiaries during protection awareness raising campaigns in collaboration with SDC and women, building on SDC’s ongoing activities
Assist on collecting information for networks and referral mechanisms for GBV cases in collaboration with MoSA’s service providers, SDC sub-branches and relevant NGOs.
3.Reporting and documentation
Ensure proper filing of attendance sheets and project documents.
Follow up on all paper work and reporting needed from the field Conduct phone calls and follow up with women on different matters.
Coordinate with SDC Director and Sector Coordinator with all updates related to the implementation process.
Collect case studies and success stories according to ACTED guidelines
4. Accountability to Communities and Beneficiaries
The Protection Field Officer is responsible for ensuring that all relations with the communities we work are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner.
Due attention must be paid to ensuring that communities are adequately consulted and informed about ACTED programme objectives, activities, beneficiary selection criteria, and methodologies.
This is the responsibility of every ACTED staff member.
5.Requirements
Experience in working in the protection sector, preferably with a background in social work
Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility INGO experience preferred

Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.
