Assignment
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Livelihood Field Officer is responsible for the day-to-day activities the project, including conducting data collection, meetings and mobilizing key project stakeholders, conducting service mapping, developing related materials for vocational trainings and oversee trainings, among others. He/She will be accountable for the smooth operation of the project activities in the project area meeting project timelines and targets.
Background
ACTED is an International Non-Governmental Organization registered in France with global operations in Central and South Asia, Europe, Middle-East and Africa. ACTED has been active in Lebanon since 2006 operating mainly in the North and Beirut and Mount Lebanon governorates of Lebanon. As part of its efforts to improve resilience in Lebanon to crises, ACTED has been developing the capacity of local authorities and institutions as part of its community development strategy. As part of the strategy, ACTED is working across 13 Social Development Centers (SDCs) to build their capacity to provide protection and economic services and implement life skills and social protection trainings for vulnerable individuals.
v Service Mapping & Community mobilization
Identify TVET service providers in all areas of intervention;
Conduct interviews with key enterprises and business stakeholders;
Conduct interviews for beneficiary selection;
v Supporting vocational training in SDCs
Liaison with relevant SDCs and data collection on capacity and needs
Oversee and support the implementation of TVET activities within the center
Record monthly results and report back to the program manager and field coordination.
v Reporting and documentation
Ensure proper filing of attendance sheets and project documents;
Follow up on all paper work and reporting needed from the field;
Conduct phone calls and follow up with beneficiaries, if necessary;
Collect case studies and success stories according to ACTED guidelines.
v Accountability to Communities and Beneficiaries
The Livelihoods Field Officer is responsible for ensuring that all relations with the communities we work are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner. Due attention must be paid to ensuring that communities are adequately consulted and informed about ACTED program objectives, activities, beneficiary selection criteria, and methodologies. This is the responsibility of every ACTED staff member.
v Requirements
University degree in a relevant field such as International Development, Economics, Business, Education etc.
Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail;
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility;
INGO and/or UN experience in similar position preferred;
Personal qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well;
Experience in working in the livelhooods sector, specifically in support to businesses, coordination of apprenticeships etc.
Experience delivering trainings and curriculums is an asset
