Outreach Worker (National Staff Only)

CISP Lebanon CISP has been active in the Lebanese humanitarian sector since1996, and has a particularly strong track record in supporting local communities including Lebanese population as well as Palestinian and Syrian refugees. Since then more than 50 projects have been implemented with funding from the European Commission (ECHO, EC), UN agencies (UNRWA, UNICEF, OCHA), Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Italian Cooperation. CISP activities aim to support the most needed Lebanese in areas lacking of basic services and without access to economic opportunities (Mainly in the North and in the South). Moreover, the humanitarian assistance supports Syrian and Palestinian  Refugees through WASH, shelter, NFIs infrastructures rehabilitation & civil works, the supply of equipment and materials, human resources training, social and educational activities, etc. Lately, in line with Regional and National policies on country recovery and resilience, the NGO has placed an increased emphasis on the long-term sustainability of basic services especially in the water sector. Nowadays, in consortium with other international partners (GVC, CONCERN, ACWUA), the NGO is pioneering a new water demand management approach for promoting Sustainable Management of Water Services by fostering the capacity of the local institutions, ensuring improved access to potable water supply and by supporting and raising awareness of the final users.   PROJECT DESCRIPTION The MADAD project aims to ensure the provision of reliable and sustainable water services to Syrian refugees and host communities by strengthening infrastructural and managerial capacities of local Water Establishments. By targeting 5 different pilot areas respectively in the Zgharta, Akkar, North Bekaa and Bent Jbeil districts, the project will - Construct new or rehabilitate and upgrade existing infrastructure to supply 24-hour water within international quality standards; - Install flow meters along the trunk line to promote water resource management - Install water meters on household connections in order to reduce NRW; - Ensure the application of volumetric tariff in collaboration with WEs in all the project areas as pilot experience for the whole country; - Build capacity of WEs to manage water resources by partnering with ACWUA to train them on water meter reading, invoicing by volumetric tariff, and creating a more active customer relation services; - Host sensitization sessions for target population, including municipalities, to promote payment of fees and subscription to WEs; - Link Lebanese Water Establishments in the North, South, and Bekaa with the MENA region through ACWUA for capacity building, sharing of knowledge in the region with public and private sector, and scaling up of activities.   Position: Outreach worker Line Manager: Social Activity Coordinator, Field Officer, Project Manager Duration:  3 months Location: Majdlaya (Zgharta District, North Lebanon)   Key Working Relationships: Working relationship with the Social Activities Coordinator, Field Officer and Project Manager should be maintained while working in the field or in the office. The relationship with local community members and institutions should respect the local customs, should be dealt with courtesy and be effective in reaching the project ultimate goals.   Detailed Job Description and Responsibilities: -          Undergo for a training on the methodologies to apply in the household mapping and citizen survey; -          Spread information among the target population on the objectives of the MADAD Project  and, in particular, of the customers and citizens surveys; -          Implement door to door visits and carry out suverys according to the target, requirements and objectives established with the project team; -          Collect the required information concerning approximately 1000 families/households applying the set methodology and recording data using the specific forms/tablets; -          Enter all collected data in a specific database; -          Correct possible errors following the inputs of the Team Leader; -          Report regularly to the Team Leader, that will monitor the quality and quantity of the data collected and entered. -          Follow the agreed plan and timetable for the work on the field in coordination with the CISP team; -          Coordinate with other members of the working team in order to minimize her/his costs for transportation. -          Deal with target beneficiaries with courtesy and being effective in reaching the ultimate goals.   Others: -          Work with the best interest of CISP and it’s beneficiaries in mind. -          Abide with the CISP code of Conduct, respecting the target population and team work -          Be held responsible for damages to whatever receives from CISP to implement his/her duties -          Not make copies (including photocopy, photography, scanning, manual duplication or any other technique) of any working document, neither empty nor filled; -          Not disclose to anybody except to the CISP team, information that he might have while implementing his duties in the framework of this agreement; -          Not use to other scope or disclose to anyone else exept CISP any documents and information produced and collected in the framework of this agreement.   Education:  University Degree in Social work is a plus, or any other related fields.    Job requirement:  -          Less than 1 year experience in demonstrating similar task (Household surveys and awareness campaign). -          Demonstrated Knowledge of the working area (Majdlaya municipality). -          Ability in handling and reading maps. -          Ability in handling IT devices such as tablets and/or GPS device. -          Very good communication skills. -          Good understanding of the socio-economic and cultural aspect of water services in Lebanon. -          Ability to work independently while at the same time cooperating with other staff members as well as beneficiaries. -          Highly organized, able to work by respecting deadline and with high sense of responsibility. -          Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English. -          Driving license   Submission guidelines Please submit your application online to cisp.recruitment@gmail.com.
