Position Summary: The Proposal Writing Coordinator prepares proposals by determining concept; gathering and formatting information; writing drafts; obtaining approvals pursuing a wide knowledge in writing proposals for a variety of donor agencies.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Determines proposal concept by identifying & clarifying opportunities & needs; studying requests for proposal
Gathers information from technical advisors & other relevant team members, assessment teams & other relevant sources necessary for drafting proposals & budgets.
Meet proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, reviews & approval; entering & monitoring tracking data; coordinating submissions and collections; identifying & communicating risks associated with proposals.
Develops proposals by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance & evaluation; writing, revising & editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions & organization credentials.
Prepares presentation by evaluating text, graphics, coordinating printing.
Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency & tone; maintaining proposal support databases.
Obtains approvals by reviewing proposals with key providers and programs’ director.
Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating & re-designing processes, approach, coordination & implementing changes.
Supervise the work of the project proposals unit, and support the assistants to do their jobs in the best manner.
Evaluate the work of the assistants and give them feedback and regular plan to improve their performance.
REQUIREMENTS
Writing skills: Excellent command of languages. Punctuation & grammar count, ability to write clearly & transform complex ideas down into simple explanations.
Creativity: Ability to understand the audience & creatively explain ideas in an appealing method.
Time Management: Meet deadlines & short notices. Being able to write with time in mind is key. The ability to work on different projects at a time (multitasking).
