Logistics Officer (South And Akkar)

Summary International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC), headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland is the official humanitarian relief agency of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America. Since its inception in 1992, IOCC has delivered $488 million in relief and development programs to families and communities in more than 50 countries.  IOCC has been working in Lebanon since 2001, implementing community-driven programs that address a broad range of social issues from relief to community development to education. IOCC seeks a part-time motivated Logistics Officer who will be responsible for monitoring duties and for liaising with the Logistics Coordinator in terms of distribution of snacks to schools.   Responsibilities and Essential Functions  Monitor the day-to-day distribution activities at schools, as part of WFP's school snacks program. Ensure proper receipt of snacks by checking the quality and quantities received upon every delivery to the school (signing waybills) Accompany the delivery truck to designated schools. Liaise with logistics coordinator for distribution plans and any disruptions of the school day (strikes, road blockages, etc.) Monitor proper storage of snacks and the condition of the storage rooms upon every delivery by filling checklists. Monitor the distribution of snacks regularly Provide on the job trainings in each school on proper receipt, storage and distribution of snacks. Liaise with IOCC nutrition educators at the schools' level to ensure smooth distribution Perform other duties as required or assigned.   Qualifications Knowledge, skills and abilities: Good organizational and time management skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Diplomacy and dynamic personality. Capacity and willingness to travel to the field. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated and initiative taker.  Education: Degree in any relevant field.   Experience: 1 to 2 years of work experience in any relevant field. Previous experience in NGO and humanitarian field is an advantage. Previous experience in a relevant field is an advantage.
