Technical Advisor/faspar

Required qualifications, competences and experience Qualifications University degree (BA in political science, sociology, anthropology, peace and conflict studies, international relations or related fields)   Professional experience 5-10 years working in a related field with an international organization.   Other knowledge, additional competences Experience in youth engagement and social activism, Strong network in Palestinian community in Saida area, Good knowledge on group dynamics and conflict transformation, Arabic native speaker; very good knowledge of English language, ideally a knowledge of German, Experience of project management and research in an area related to the project’s/programme’s requirements is desirable, Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management, Political and conflict sensitivity, Good working knowledge of ITC technologies and computer applications.   Responsibilities Managing the implementation of FASPAR project activities in Saida area, in particular focusing on youth, Building strong networks in the Palestinian refugee camps and gathering in Saida; Contributing to monitoring and knowledge management of the project; Ensuring good communication and effective coordination in Saida;   In this context, the position holder fulfils the following tasks:   Tasks   Networking and cooperation: Building strong networks in Saida with stakeholders in the Palestinian community. Supporting cooperation, regular contact and dialogue with partners and stakeholders. Facilitating group sessions.   Coordination tasks: Supporting in monitoring and evaluation. Coordinating relevant project activities in Saida area in consultation with the superior and in cooperation with partners. Preparing delegation visits. Supports/mentors youth and youth groups in Saida area. Coordinates meetings on Saida level and attends meetings on national and regional level.   Knowledge management: Developing strategies and technical concepts, including guidelines, manuals and procedures. Drawing up reports, presentations and other relevant documents in English and Arabic. Preparing appropriate input for various project/programme reports including annual reports, and contributes to other reports Carrying out specific tasks concerning knowledge management in the program by translation and source analysis. Assisting with research activities and studies on socio-political topics which benefit joint programmes.     Other Duties/Additional Tasks Participating in team meetings and other relevant GIZ events/meetings Providing support to the superior regarding the implementation of the project. Assists in and/or carry out other project activities and other tasks as assigned   Description of the Programme: The GIZ regional FASPAR Programme aims at increasing social participation of refugees for improving their living conditions. FASPAR Lebanon uses a multi-level approach and cooperates with its main strategic partners in three fields of action: Strengthening social participation within the refugee camps and the refugee community (1), between refugees and host communities (2) and in relevant dialogue and mediation processes on a national and regional level (3). FASPAR supports self-help initiatives of Palestinian refugees, in particular women and youth, through human capacity development measures and funding of small projects. The programme also trains and strengthens local organisations in the refugee camps, in areas such as project management, communication and participatory planning, so that they are able to respond to the needs of camp residents. FASPAR cooperates with representative refugee organisations, the institutions of the host countries and UNRWA to support organisational development measures in identified areas and to enhance cooperation. FASPAR is currently working in the West Bank, in Gaza, in Jordan and in Lebanon.
