Job Description: Project and strategy development and design for a Social Media Campaign
Project Title: Preventing violence by media- and dialogue-work to reduce prejudices and stereotypes in Lebanon
Contracting Authority: This project is a partnership between the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and Lebanese NGO "MARCH Lebanon"
Consultancy Objective: Support GIZ CPS Lebanon and its Partnerorganisation MARCH in the development of a strategy for a longterm online campaign, aiming at reducing stereotypes and prejudices against syrain refugees.

Scope of work
The contractor´s offer relates to the following tasks, which are to take place as scheduled below. The measures are to be carried out in coordination with the project partner. The scope of work includes the following tasks:
I. Development of Social Media Strategy
A) Development of a strategy for an online campaign (as a base for the proposal writing for the future cooperation with GIZ CPS)
B) Conceptualisation and outline of methodology and messages (content) for the online campaign
C) Identifying suitable targetgroups
D) Review on latest prominent hate speech cases in Social Media
E) Identifying suitable social media channels for dissemination of content
F) Identifying possibilities to burst personal social media bubbles (how can prejudiced media consumers, that are sheltered from opposite / positive perspectives / alternative narrative techniques and reports, be adressed?)
G) Identifying multipliers, bloggers, influencer (for campaigning / cooperation for dissemination)
H) Identifying contributers for positive reporting / success stories
II. Identifying connecting factors and needs for Media Literacy Trainings
III. Writing and editing first draft of project proposal
Outputs
I. Strategy Paper for online campaign (written and edited final paper, as electronic version *doc- / *pdf-file) including:
Methodology for the social media campaign (which messages to whom?)
Targetgroups (consumers - who can be adressed how?)
Timeframe
Social Media Channels for dissemnination
Network and contacts of journalists / media practicioners participating in campaigning
II. First drafts of ideas for a training series that will be used:
A) as a base to produce content for the online campaign: Content Producers
B) for a training series to raise awareness about the „dangers” when using social media: Content Consumers
III. Proposal Draft based on strategy paper (approx. 4-6 pages, according to GIZ guidelines)
Qualifications of consultant
Knowledge and experience with the design of social media campaigns
Experience in designing (peace) projects
Experience in conceptualisation of trainings
Familiar with Social Media Analysis Tools
Liberal-minded
Time Schedule: The total assignment includes up to 25 Working Days (WD) between the 15th of August and 15th of October 2017.
Management
The consultant will work under the supervision of Mr. Gino Raidy (MARCH) and Mr. Manuel Erbenich (ZFD GIZ). The consultant will provide a weekly work schedule listing the working hours and tasks performed.
During the period of the assignment there will be regular meetings in a weekly cycle with the appointed consultant, ZFD GIZ’s program advisor Mr. Manuel Erbenich and one representative of the MARCH board members.
Confidentiality
All content and documents of the assignment are to be treated confidentially and may not be shared outside of the GIZ CPS / MARCH team, unless explicit agreement was given by the supervisor.
