Project Coordinator

ALEF is recruiting a Project Coordinator for its project entitled “Towards Increased Protection for Migrant Domestic Workers in Lebanon”. Migrant domestic workers in Lebanon face human rights violations and poor protection caused by the sponsorship system, among other factors. This is compounded by the weak Lebanese protection framework which renders migrant workers constantly at risk of abuse. The three year project, funded by SDC, is in its final phase. As a general outlook, it aims to explore the success of the previously implemented initiatives in this regard and build on their strengths while also assessing any weaknesses and addressing them by proposing a protection framework and lobbying for the adoption of the proposed reforms. The advocacy and lobbying for the adoption of this framework would also be in collaboration and coordination with CSOs working towards the same goal. In parallel, an awareness raising campaign would also be held to complement the work on the framework and to inform the public and the MDWs of the development. The Project Coordinator will report directly to the Programs Manager and will be responsible for: Execution of the project based on the agreed objectives. Maintaining accurate budget control and overall responsibility for financial management in line with project proposals. Handling administrative and logistical procedures. Reporting to donors about project progress in a timely manner based on agreed upon deadlines. Maintaining a good relationship with relevant CSOs as well as coordinating with them whenever necessary. Finalization of the development of the protection framework following consultations with relevant NGOs, experts, and MDWs. Organization of awareness workshops and overseeing implementation of awareness campaigns. Lobbying for the adoption of the proposed reforms with state agencies and relevant stakeholders. Maintaining good inter-team communications and supporting team members professionally whenever needed. Qualifications Relevant university degree or similar education Good knowledge in the human rights field Good understanding of ALEF strategy and policy Relevant experience in similar contexts Strong communication and team work skills Good background on local laws and regulations Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English Ability to lead on a project and work independently Ability to work under pressure Good organizational skills Relevant computer skills (MS Office, Excel)
