English Language/ It Trainer

  Background   ACTED is an international humanitarian NGO, founded in 1993, which supports vulnerable populations, affected by humanitarian crises worldwide. ACTED provides continued support to vulnerable communities by ensuring the sustainability of post-crisis interventions and engaging long-term challenges facing our target populations, in order to break the poverty cycle, foster development and reduce vulnerability to disasters. Our interventions seek to cover the multiple aspects of humanitarian and development crises through a multidisciplinary approach which is both global and local, and adapted to each context. Our 4 000 staff is committed in to responding to emergencies worldwide, to supporting recovery and rehabilitation, towards sustainable development.   Our teams in the field implement some 380 projects in 34 countries covering the following sectors emergency relief, food security, access to health, education and training, economic development, microfinance, advocacy, institutional support, and regional dialogue, cultural promotion. Assignment The trainer is responsible for delivering English Language and IT training for 150 beneficiaries at the Social Development Centers in greater Tripoli, specifically Nejmeh, Qoubbeh and Qalamoun.   Functions 1. Train beneficiaries on English language/IT Develop the curricula to be provided for approximately 120 hours of course work on English and IT; Provide basic digital literacy training for 150 beneficiaries at the Social Development Centers in Tripoli area, specifically Nejmeh, Qoubbeh and Qalamoun: Computer vocabulary Turn on computer, menu and taskbar Type and save on word Basic excel exercises Create an email Curriculum vitae preparation Provide English Language training to beneficiaries at SDCs; Provide trainings full time on a daily basis. Each group will benefit from a course of approximately two hours per day, over 4 months of period of time; Creation of training material in coordination with management staff; Monitor and track training feedback from trainees; Provide record and evaluate effective training activities; Be patient and positive and provide explanation when necessary Take daily attendance of trainees Provide weekly reports to ACTED updating on training progress Provide weekly work plan to ACTED Project Manager Coordinate with SDC Director and Project Manager with all updates related to the implementation          process. Target audience and profile The training will be delivered to mixed groups (Syrian and Lebanese), aged 18-45 with at least basic literacy and numeracy. Beneficiaries’ selection will be carried out by ACTED as in reference to WFP’s targeting criteria. Qualifications and Skills Ability to develop curriculum. Strong and committed interest in teaching and training, with extensive previous experience in conducting training. Strong communication skills. Excellent command of written and oral English, and local language. Good Presentation skills Understanding of aspects related to group dynamics and personal psychology.
