Do You Want To Become A Counselor On The Sexuality Hotline?

The A Project invites you to apply for an intensive six day training on Gender and Sexual & Reproductive Health (SRH), for a chance to become part of our team of counselors who answer phone calls on our Sexuality Hotline. The hotline aims to provide support to women and trans* persons who have questions about sexuality, gender and SRH. This training will equip the participants to be able to engage on these topics in a feminist, supportive, affirmative, and body-positive way by listening, providing accurate information, framing the issue politically, and sometimes referring callers to services needed. The hotline is open to calls every day between 5 PM and 11 PM. The phone rotates between counselors on a weekly basis. Counselors are compensated for every hotline shift they take. Since its launch in November 2016, the hotline has received questions on a wide array of topics, including sexual pleasure, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), contraception, gender identity and sexual violence. As the number of calls increase, we will need more people to take shifts on the hotline. Could you be one of the people we are looking for?
