Migration Health Physician Emergency And Pec/pdms/maf And Medical Escorts Team Leader

Under the general supervision of the Head of Office, the overall technical supervision of the Chief Medical Officer based in Beirut, Lebanon the incumbent shall perform the following essential functions:   Performing migration health assessment and completing related medical documentation of migrants and refugees selected for migration in accordance with the resettlement country’s Medical Examination Guidelines/Protocols for Immigrants and the IOM Migration Health Assessment Guidelines.  In charge and organizing the work of the Beirut PEC/FTT PDMS MAF Center on a day to day basis. In charge of identification recruitment training or health cadre of MHD IOM Beirut and Medical escort’s pool and scheduling for their engagement on medical escorting duties for various countries. Ensure a viability of required medical escort kits, medical drugs and supplies, communication tool documentation required to perform standard IOM medical escort duties Maintain communication with medical escorts during their travel upon arrival in destination county and return to duty post ensuring reports and eventual incidents are provided on timely manner   to respective entities Liaising with the IOM Operations and other IOM missions for organization of the work, transport of refugee applicants and scheduling of both health assessment s and pre-departure health checks, stabilization and treatment. Serving as clinical reference for decision making on behalf of IOM MHD Lebanon, Chief Medical Officer in close coordination with the regional coordination of the health assessments, when it comes to fitness to travel and recommendations for travel requirements for medical cases.  Providing technical supervision and monitoring of IOM medical staff in IOM Beirut PEC PDMS MAF center to ensure that the following activities are performed in accordance with the technical requirements of the resettlement countries:    Medical case registration Medical treatment and follow up programs Data Processing and management Quality control and assurance protocols Pre-embarkation medical examination of departing refugees         9. Contributing to the analysis and technical elaboration of data gathered from the migration health assessment, PEC PDMS MAF      10. Assist in Coordination with the local/national health authorities, physicians, hospitals and laboratories, UNHCR and other UN   agencies, and other health partners in Lebanon. This includes verification of the external service providers input.      11. Assisting in the preparation, design, analysis and implementation of research activities related to the migration health, tuberculosis and sexually transmitted diseases.      12. Assisting in developing potential health and migration projects/programmes for the mission.      13. Lead IOM MHD Emergency team      14. Travel in the region on mobile missions’ duties, particularly during emergency operation of IOM MHD Beirut or on medical escorting duties, as might be requested by the technical supervisor.      15. Performing any other related duties that may be assigned by the supervisors.

• Education:
Medical Doctor, Diploma. Registered to practice medicine with the Lebanese Medical Association / Board. Post graduate degree in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases or Pediatrics is an asset.

• Experience:
Minimum three years of continuous clinical working experience, preferably with experience in infectious diseases, internal medicine, pediatrics or in the migration health field.
